Friendly greeting from bar staff on arrival. Relaxed atmosphere, good menu selection, and not over extended offering.
Food freshly cooked and served to table by very pleasant staff.
Good wine list from which most people will find something to suit their preference.
A welcome addition to the eating options around Taunton, will return.

We arrived thirsty and hungry and were met with a very warm welcome by the owners and were offered a drink at the very pleasent bar area while browsing the menu, wow what a choice!!! particulary impressed with the forward to the menu explaining about the locally sourced ingredients and wines. Food was fantastic especially the roast and steak. We were very impressed by the attention to detail by the owners. Would highly recommend a visit, If only we lived near we would make this our regular!!!!

For many years we frequented the Blagdon Inn which then became the Blagdon Indian. We tried them once and that was enough! We were very pleased to see that it has changed hands again and has been renamed the White Lion. What a pleasant surprise to see it revert back to how it used to be and that all the overpowering purple walls have been painted over in magnolia. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff and the food was excellent. I had the Ploughmans and the Exmoor blue cheese was a delight as was the freshly baked walnut bread. My husband had the fish cakes which he said were delicious. As mentioned by another reviewer there was no "Specials" board and it will be interesting to see how often the menu changes. We will definitely go back again when we are in the area.

Have now been 3 times both lunch time and evening. Very pleasant decor ( after the Indian restaurant) lovely table settings and a chilled out fresh feel. Good wines by the glass and wide variety of drinks on offer. Lovely food. Tapas sharing platter now a firm favourite. Attentive staff without being in your face. Hope they do some 'special' evenings to keep the locals coming! Worth a visit.
