This was our first visit to a beautifully situated hotel. The occasion was our 40th wedding anniversary and our party of 10 included 2 x 2year olds. We had booked the conservatory and this proved to be ideal as the french windows allowed our grandchildren the freedom to play on the patio and gardens before and after the meal as well as between courses. ... as well as providing a welcome breeze!
The meal was delicious, the staff politely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The gardens also offered us beautiful options for photos to celebrate this special occasion.
The chocolate written 'anniversary congratulations' served with coffee was a lovely surprise.

For a similar occasion we would recommend this hotel with no hesitation

Tucked away in the countryside with beautiful views this hotel is well worth a visit. The staff are charming and very helpful. We had a de-luxe room which was spacoius, comfortable and well appointed. The food in the restaurant is both varied and well presented. We also attended a private function while we were there this time and this too was handled very smoothly. One of the nicest hotels we have visited of late.

Room Tip: A de-luxe room with views over the countyside

My wife and I didnt stay but joined our friends staying there for dinner. The staff were rude and blunt we asked for more drinks three times before they came. The food was of a OK standard but not as good as we were lead to think it would be by other comments on this site. Desserts were the real let down they looked stunning but lacked any flavor only really tasted what I can only say maybe of plastic. Better places to eat in town with out having to drive.

Went for a spa day at the hotel today, location was beautiful and the hotel was extremely clean! The receptionist was lovely and the treatments I had done were beyond relaxing and the lady was lovely! nothing about the strawberries and champagne were mentioned even though they were included in the purchase I made! also as I'd never been on a spa day I wasn't sure what to wear for the treatments or if I was supposed to remove makeup, it was all a bit awkward to start off with, would have the treatments done again In a flash but I wouldn't be caught paying £110 for what I got from the day!

Great little hotel in a slightly bizarre location. The standard rooms are a little cosy but the hotel offers bigger rooms. Breakfast was very relaxing and dinner was great value. The lounge can get a little busy but a great place to sit and read the papers whilst having a coffee.

I stayed here for a couple of nights on business. The staff are lovely and my room was great. However, the restaurant is a real let down. Overpriced and poor quality food. The chef would be better off trying to prepare some simple dishes well, rather than being over ambitious. It's probably no surprise that the dining room was almost empty the night I visited!

I would stay here again but would go out to eat and would recommend you do the same!

Booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary this was a touch of class - the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard - rooms are spacious and wonderful boutique bathrooms, bit hot in the day though, a fan would be a helpful touch in this wonderful summer we are having.
Spa is lovely and the outside patio is great for when the sun is shining.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant but the chef had a few issues with the concept of gluten free and had to send his waiter running out on 2 occasions when they realised the dish was full of wheat ! Breakfast again nice but service slow - took 30 minutes to get coffee - they did have a wedding to prepare for however. All in all a lovely quiet get away with helpful pleasant staff and good food.
