Booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary this was a touch of class - the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard - rooms are spacious and wonderful boutique bathrooms, bit hot in the day though, a fan would be a helpful touch in this wonderful summer we are having.
Spa is lovely and the outside patio is great for when the sun is shining.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant but the chef had a few issues with the concept of gluten free and had to send his waiter running out on 2 occasions when they realised the dish was full of wheat ! Breakfast again nice but service slow - took 30 minutes to get coffee - they did have a wedding to prepare for however. All in all a lovely quiet get away with helpful pleasant staff and good food.

We stayed overnight in June 2013, and loved it, for its unhotel like properties and its calm elegance. We had booked late and had a super room with a great bathroom, but with a wonky floor, for the true georgian house experience. We enjoyed the garden and terrace and the resident peacock. We dined in the bar, and had a restful night. We were able to work in the quiet surroundings, and the staff were super. The spa was a great added bonus, and the breakfast was excellent.

Recently held two small conferences with great success at Mount Somerset. The extremely efficient Events Manager accommodated all of our quirks and foibles without a hitch. Buffet lunch was abundant, unusual and beautifully presented by charming staff. Nice little "extra touches" that made us feel a bit special. The understated elegance of the house with its skillfully tasteful interior decoration really 'wowed' our delegates. Situated just easy 3 miles from Taunton makes this our venue of choice for the future.

We had our wedding reception at the hotel in May of this year and most of our wedding party stayed at the hotel that night. The service was excellent, the food wonderful and the staff friendly and professional. I cannot praise them enough. They all helped to make our wedding truly wonderful. The rooms were all gorgeous as was the whole hotel and grounds. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere whilst still being stylish. I would not hesitate to recommend The Mount Somerset to anyone, you will not be disappointed. We certainly intend to return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The food is amazing and the room very comfy. We had a deluxe room which had a superb bathroom. Lots of lovely touches, including free homemade cookies in the room and an evening turndown.

The spa was v relaxing. Like others said, it does lack a pool but nevertheless is worth a visit.

Both dinner and breakfast were of too quality and very filling.

Would v much recommend a stay here.

We chose the Mount Somerset for our wedding reception as it is such a beautiful house. It has to die for rooms, outstanding views and friendly staff! A few of us girlies started on the Thurs afternoon, where we had treatments in the spa, a buffet and a garden room with a hot tub. It was fab! The Wedding was truely amazing! Claire and her team were fantastic and catered for our every need, nothing was too much trouble and I can't thank them enough! It was so organised and ran so smoothly, the food was sensational and the drinks were flowing! The Barrington honeymoon suite was huge, bed so comfy and bathroom luxurious! Every single room is lovely and all our guests commented on what a lovely venue it was. The breakfast we had on both mornings were delicious with lots of variety to choose from. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding as it was the best day of our lives!

Room Tip: Garden rooms have hot tubs and The Barrington suite is the best room to have

We went for a spa day but had breakfast and lunch. The spa was very odd, it was lacking what I felt were basic facilities, my biggest issue was there was no where for us to relax between treatments really. There was a relaxation room but I didn't find it relaxing, the was only 5 seats and at one time there was 8 of us wanting lunch and between treatments so nowhere to sit. The treatments were lovely as we're the staff. There were only sun loungers outside and no swimming pool. I usually go to a different spa and I think I will again just because we found it hard to relax. The food was lovely for both breakfast and lunch, the country surroundings were beautiful also. The only boggle abut staff was that after booking for myself and my friends and Laing on a credit card, one of my friends paid for her treatments in advance and was charged on departure. The woman on reception insisted she would not take pa,ent in advance and my friend would have to pay again, yet I paid for everyone in advance?! as I said, OK, a few things let the overall experience down.
