“Great walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

Walk down this towpath most weekends, never get bored seeing the wildlife and watching them grow. Swans with their nine signet coots and their chicks a huge number of hungry ducks, a large amount of fish, if your lucky you will see herons.and a kingfisher i think. peaceful and beautiful
Make sure you take a camera.

“Good to have tow path on your door step”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

It is really pleasant to walk or cycle ride along the towpath wich is just a few yards from our home. Most of the path is tarmac and of course, flat. A good circular walk from Taunton to Creech and Ruishton and return via the River Tone bank. Both villages have good pubs which serve good food. There is also a good café at Maunsel lock
Lots of wildlife. I have seen voles , kingfishers, deer plus an abundance of swans and ducks.
Lots of blackberries out there today!

“Ding, ding!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

I love cycling down the canal, mainly because it is flat!
Most people are respectful and make way for one another and everyone is usually friendly.
If you are lucky you'll see some kingfishers :-)

“Lovely place to run walk cycle boat or fish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful and free! No opening hour restrictions! 'ruined by idiots' review very harsh but the're is a bizare dog walker in the Creech area who goes to the trouble of bagging dog poo then hanging it from bushes and trees.... Very very odd and inconsiderate, it would be better if he took a trowel and flicked it well into the hedge to rot rather than in a bag! Hardly spoils the walk but I feel for the person who eventually clears up after -not that I know who's responsible to do so, probably some kind volunteer also that the arrogant fool of a dog owner can carry on enjoying a pleasant. Canal-I'd personally ban dog owners until this one behaves! Quiet narrow for cyclists and pedestrians at busy times like Sunday afternoon and becomes tiresome for both parties having to move out of each other's way. Back to dog owners I must say all the dog owners I've come across when using the canal to run on in the past have been very polite and considerate often stopping and holding their dog -not that they need to but very considerate! so it's just the odd bag hanger who lets the side down! We just don't want to step in it or see it littered in plastics!

“Lovely walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

We decided to walk rather than taking the bikes, the path is on the Sustrans route if you want to cycle a further distance but as it was very hot we decided on a leisurely stroll. We parked at Creech st Michael and walked to Bathpool. The path was very tidy and clean, the water was clear and we were able to see lots of fish. It is an ideal place to take a family.
