“Take aways/ eat-in”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We usually find the food at the Red Chilli very good! Take away service - very poor!

We ordered take away Saturday night at 7.00pm ish, they said it would be 45 mins to 1 hour - which was fine - expected 8pm ish delivery. At 8.40pm we rang to check where our order was, they said "due to bad weather they were running late" fair comment - (it was a bit snowy on some estate roads). At 9.15pm rang again, we were then told another 15mins - we were the next order to come out. Not acceptable - we cancelled the order. At 9.40pm the takeaway arrived on our doorstep (free of charge), we sent it away!! Sorry Red Chilli - fish fingers already under the grill, we were starving!... Not good enough!!

“The best in Wakefield”
Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

We go to the red chilli at least once a month. I have tried others in Wakefield but nothing comes close. The staff are really friendly and know me by my first name which I feel is a better service as they take notice of their customers . Definalty would recommend this to anyone

“FLY ATTACK”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Told this was the best indian in Wakefield - no it isn't !!
we had to battle against 4 flies , waiters saw us constantly swatting and did nothing !
starter - onion bhaji - ok
main - chicken tikka masala - bright red didn't taste a bit like curry - 'that's how we do it here , each resturant is different' - no it tastes like curry in other indians
poor food poor service
back to Mantra for us !!

“Poor, bar needs to be raised significantly in this market”
Reviewed December 10, 2012 via mobile

Visited on a fairly quiet night, place was warm which was a good start. Menu uninspiring, even boring.... Same old same old, fed up of this safe run of the mill stuff. Have any reviewers ever been to India... Seriously doubt it! Having spent several months across this wonderful country with all its diversity there are wonderful dishes of colour other than brown or reddy brown. Even supermarkets churn out a more authentic selection these days in their premium ranges....... Think on
