A step back in time, this is a traditional pub straight from the history books. Located in a beautiful village and surrounded by heath land, it is made up of a collection of small intimate rooms with gas lights and open fires. The food is to a good standard though similar fare can be found locally cheaper, however it is worth paying the premium here for the setting alone. A whole bar full of real ales and ciders complement the bar meals and resturant food with wines affordably priced. It is a place I visit regularly, usually after a lengthy stroll in the surrounding countryside. The staff are attentive and friendly. It is well worth a visit.
