A great British pub serving great beers & real ciders. Mostly £3 or less. Unusually as well a good choice of wines by the glass or bottle. Glad I found it. Friendly service and helpful staff. Here's a novelty. Clean loos too!

Always call in here for a drink when in Darlington. Always very busy. Great selection of beers and they do have my favourite Pilsner Urquel on tap which you very rarely see. A real ale lovers dellght.

Great ales, great atmosphere. A 'Real' pub with no juke box, no slot machines, no pool table etc. A place where you can engage in social intercourse and drink great ales at the same time.

So disappointed today to be told that No 22 has stopped serving proper cooked food at lunchtime. Only sandwiches and ploughman's available, this is tragic as the menu served here was varied and the food delicious. Yes, the beer selection is still good but the lack of food maybe contributed to the fact that the pub was particularly quiet today. Number 22 please reconsider this decision!

Numbertwenty2 unfortunately had to make the decision to change our food menu due to a change in demand. The bar could no longer sustain the kitchen over the increasingly quiet lunchtimes so we now serve a range of sandwiches and homemade soup as well as a mini ploughman's with a special recipe pork pie from Carley's kitchen! By doing this we can still offer our Real Ale fans a range of homemade food from 12pm - 7pm everyday instead of the previous short window of 2 hours. Thankfully so far our regular clientele have continued to support their favourite ale house and we are very grateful.
