The food and staff are both wonderful in this lovely hotel. Sunday lunch is one of the best carveries I've ever had. The staff, in particular Richard, are really friendly, helpful & pleasant. The hotel itself is set in a beautiful village setting, lovely walks etc.

Stumbled upon this by accident and an internet search as the local Premier wanted over £80.00 for just B&B. Stopped here for the first time overnight on a businees trip. Ended up in room 1 which was enormous. If I had to be really picky some of the plasterwork needs some tlc in the bathroom, however this is great hotel.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I ate in the bar in the evening and the food was absolutely superb, freshly cooked and presented beautifully.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and I will have no hesitation on stopping again

Stopped early in the new year and hotel organised a dinner for around 20 for my mothers 95th birthday. Hotel is in a fabulous position overlooking the impressive River Tees and our three rooms were all great. Our room - Room 1 - was enormous with enough space for 4 double beds and bathroom was also very spacious and well equipped. Particularly liked the bay window overlooking the river. The hotel were very accommodating in allowing my daughter to have her pug in her dog friendly room. The cooked breakfast was one of the best I have ever had - and certainly the biggest. The meal for my mothers birthday was excellent and incredibly good value. The staff were friendly, helpful and fun. To cap it all off the hotel had some really good real ales. Can't think of one bad thing to say

Just returned from an overnight stay here. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel is very clean and the staff are really friendly very helpful nothing is a problem to them. Our room was very large and we had an excellent view over to the river. We also took our little dog along and she was made very welcome too. We had dinner on the evening i can highly recommend the Rib eye steak it was the best i have ever had superp!! Breakfast this morning was also excellent. We could of stayed another couple of nights. We also had a lovely walk along the riverside which was beautiful. Where the hotel is situated is lovely and peaceful. We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the river.
