Called in for lunch as we were over Darlington. ...wish it was a bit nearer for us to use more often. Greeted and seated by Andy (were he gets his energy from I do not know)..... We ordered 3 standard meals and struggled to eat them they were so big. A good selection of veg and loads of meat. ....all served fresh and HOT.
We had to really struggle to eat a desert.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We couldn't fault the place...Thank you all

Thank wishyou

Myself and two friends booked for the Christmas dinner, three courses plus tea or coffee for £16.95. Great value... the only problem I don't think I did the main course justice as there was so much of it, even so very tasty. Service was good. We have all been before and will definitely be returning.

Went recently on a Monday night. 2for1. Generous portions of average to good food. Staff stressed, owner very money orientated. Wouldn't let us split the bill in case the 2for1 deal didn't work in his favour

had a very good lunch yesterday.called in as we were passing and managed to get a table during a very busy time.hubby had " normal" pork lunch @ £8.25 and I had "small" pork @£6.25.both had lots of lovely pork and came with mashed and roast potato, cabbage, carrots and mashed turnip all cooked perfect and of course a huge Yorkshire pudding! looking around those who had chosen "normal" beef had 2 of the huge Yorkshire puddings.we saw that they had commenced with special Christmas menus but these have to be pre ordered so I think we missed out on something really good but we were very satisfied with our meal.service was very good.will certainly go back.

Good choice, decent prices and location, but mediocre food quality. Acceptable for a quick lunch stop, but far from exciting.
