“poole harbour is a beautiful place to...”
Reviewed August 8, 2010

poole harbour is a beautiful place to visit. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from and theres a town centre near the old town if youre just looking for a cheap meal. Theres plenty of boat rides around the harbour and these are great even with kids. I cant remember the name of the boat but the trip was 1 hr and quarter around the harbour and we had a 6 yr old and 1 yr old and they loved it! Poole harbour isnt a place to keep kids entertained unless theyre happy picking shells on the beach but its a lovely place to visit

Reviewed March 7, 2010

great close beaches and restaurants.
Bus service let us down one evening which was awkward with two children.
accomadation clean and all household equipment.
camera would be handy for the beach and walking shoes to see the beautiful sites
great for short or long stays plenty to do.

“absolutely awful”
Reviewed September 6, 2009

I know places change, but the one place i thought would still evoke my childhood days would be Poole harbour , however it has become a concrete jungle; new overpriced flat builds have taken over the small pottery/curiosity shops. The price of a trip to Brownsea has gone up,which is fair enough but you now need to add on £5.00 to the £8.00 if you are not a member of the National Trust with no concessions for students - sheer greed on the part of N.T. the whole of the promenade if lacking in what once a harbour with a beautiful vista of the sea and islands. How tragic. I won't return.

“Poole Harbour is stunning”
Reviewed August 5, 2009

Poole harbour itself is stunning, with views of Brownsea island and shiny new Sunseekers being built . There are plenty of boat trips which are very nice. Some of the Restaurants are quite good like the old Custom house, Oriel and there's a Wetherspoons pub which is always cheap. It's a shame quite a few others have closed down, there is only one left by the new Dolphin quay but it tends to be a bit grey and grim to sit under all that concrete as well as always being very windy.

“Wonderful Promenade and Boat Trips”
Reviewed April 28, 2009

My husband and I went to Poole on Easter Monday. It was buzing with the promanade looking clean and most of the new builds looking spectacular. We went on a boat trip up the River Froome to Wareham which is well worth the trip. If you book and pay before hand you can save £1. Thats with Greenslade Boat Trips.
