This is a very nice B&B, and as you walk up the meticulously designed garden path to enter you know you're somewhere a little different to your standard B&B. The rooms were lovely and modern, fresh and clean and yet still cosy in feel. The home made biscuits were a lovely touch on entering the room, and it all just felt so much nicer and better equipped than the generic hotel rooms you get offered these days.

Carol & Rob were very hospitable and really interesting to talk to, the breakfast was lovely in the morning and I think the price is great value for the standard on offer. We really felt welcome and wouldn't hesitate to return. If you're ever in the area then don't hesitate to book here, you won't be disappointed and it's one I would highly recommend to all my family and friends.

It always amazes me that one can stay in a B&B where the owners make you feel like you're putting them out by being there. Not a bit of it at the White House, Carol was the most friendly hostess I've ever encountered.

The design of the house (a most inspiring contemporary affair) is such that the guests have a separate entrance to the accommodation which offers the guest as much privacy as is required if you "just want to get away from it all".

The rooms, like the rest of the house, are very modern but tasteful and peaceful for even the most ardent conventionalist. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into everything and there are some clever details that enhance the experience. For example, the clock radios have an ipod dock (with various connectors) so you can bring your favourite music with you, the bathroom contains "Lush" products for you to use during your stay and the food is all locally sourced and organic. One is given the impression that no corners have been cut anywhere and that the emphasis is always on giving the guest the best treatment possible (rather than maximising the proprietors' profit margin).

Carol also kindly offers lifts in and out of Poole (although we didn't take her up on the offer) which is another lovely touch. This is a great compensation for the fact that the property isn't within walking distance of Poole, but anyone booking a stay here will know that anyway. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B and I doubt that we will ever have a better B&B experience than this for the money we paid. I wish Carol and John every success; their hard work and deep thought was most evident and appreciated.

We stayed at The White House for 2 nights at the end of March.
We really loved this place.
It is clean bright and airy, food great fresh and all locally sourced or home made.Homemade Jams Honey and Cakes !
The owners Carol and Rob are lovely and could not do enough for us (This included 2 lifts into Poole as we did not want to take our car so we could enjoy a few drinks !!)
As others have said this is better than many 3 and 4 Star hotels we have stayed in.
We are looking forward to returning with friends for another break.
Loads of good places to visit nearby and Poole is a great place.
Well done keep up the good work !!

This is a real gem, we stayed for a night whilst visiting Monkey World in Dorset. This B&B is state of the Art modern, conveniently located on a housing estate on the edge of the town and the rooms are contemporary, individually designed and clean. The house has clearly been a labour of love for the owners who welcomed us with coffee and home made cake and allowed us to treat the place as our own. What a lovely, friendly couple and a fabulous breakfast. If you are eating out in Poole and like seafood then we strongly recommend 'Storm' restaurant which is a short taxi ride away. We will definately be going back.... Tracey & Paul from Chepstow.

I was in Poole on business and needed a reasonable place to stay.

Not liking the look of any of the hotels, I opted for a B&B after reading the reviews here I thought this was fantastic.

Firstly, it was a little further away from Poole than I anticipated, it was about a tenner taxi ride from the main train station.

After arriving, the inside of the house is completely modern and contemporary. They've really spent a lot of time and money rennovating it inside. They were also doing the garden. It looks really great at the moment, will be fantastic for summer.

There are lush shampoo, conditioner and soap bars in the room. My room had under floor heating under the tiles. There is a place to put recyclable rubbish. A hair dryer. You can ask for anything else like an iron or tooth paste. There is also a flatscreen tv in the room, with just channels 1-5.

The owners use the main living room for themselves, as the kitchen and living room and dining room are open plan, it makes it a little difficult to relax. The room, although perfectly comfortable has no desk or chair. And lacks enough space to put things on. The dresser drawer was full with the kettle and homemade cake (lovely btw) and leaflets. The bathroom unit was also too small and full to put anything. A little shelf would have been ideal in there.

The Whitehouse was a bungalow but the owners have put rooms in the attic. I noticed how thin the ceilings were when someone came home late. The stairs are metal so you can hear every step, and then the ceiling creaked with every step they made around their room. I even heard their silent phone alarm go on vibrate in the morning!

My room was also facing the busy road. although there is a fence and you cant see any of it there are buses that regularly go by through the night, and this woke me up a few times.

All in all, the owners are lovely people. The rooms are immaculately clean. The beds comfortable. I would definitely book here again if I weren't here on business.
