Owner description: Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 30 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

If the sun is shining it is very easy to forget that you are in England. The sea is on one side and the sea on the other and it is really a unique places. Some of the houses are unbelieveable!

The golden stretch of sand at Sanbanks reaches for 10 miles from here to Hetingsbury Head well beyond Bournemouth. The view from the beach is fabulous, giving you sight of Old Harry Rocks and Poole Harbour entrance to the right, and the Isle of Wight and Bournemouth to the left. You are within paddling distance of the most expensive residential properties in the UK. If you are lucky enough you may be at the beach when the UK Beach Volleyball League is in town. Stopping at Sandbanks beach is great as the options for activities are more than just confined to the beach itself. On the inland side of the peninsular is a shallow sandy shelf, in the corner of the Harbour, which is a haven for windsurfers and kite surfers. The water depth remains constant for a very long way out and is shallow enough to stand on the bottom. This is perfect for the beginner. There is also Crazy Golf and other amuzements available and plenty of places to eat. You are also very close to the Chain Ferry link to Studland Beach and Nature Reserve and also a short ferry ride to Brownsea Island. Staying at a hotel in this area means that there is a lot on your doorstep without having to use the car.

If you have a family and want to enjoy the beach then head for Sandbanks. There is a large car park but you should arrive early as it gets very busy at weekends and high season. There is a decent Café and the Terrace Bar at the Sandbanks Hotel is excellent. Whilst the Jazz Café is very good it is not child friendly (wheel chairs are banned). You will not find a better sandy beach.

Even on the days that aren't warm, the sea is beautiful, the sand gorgeous and a lovely place to spend the day or evening. Would recommend a visit
