We are huge fans of Bellowhead so obviously we had a wonderful evening. This was our first visit to Poole and the Lighthouse and we were very impressed. We had a very good pre-theatre dinner in the Terrace Bistro which was good value. The residents of Poole are lucky to have such an excellent arts centre on their doorstep.

We moved down here a couple of years ago. In the first year we went to a number of good (mainly folk) concerts at The Lighthouse. Since then, we discovered that The BSO play regularly at The Lighthouse as their local venue. We can honestly say we haven't looked back...We've been so impressed to have such an amazingly good world-class orchestra on our doorstep that we've become BSO 'groupies'!! Try a concert -my partner (who was never seriously a fan of classical) now loves most Wednesday's at The Lighthouse. We now have season tickets and not only save a fortune -but also we are being exposed to a broad range of superb music -not least due to the programming of Kirill Karabits -their principal conductor. Highly recommended.

This place is such a good thing for Poole, its visitors and the wider community. Whenever I visit I find it to be spotlessly clean and well supplied with friendly staff to help you. The programme is always varied and I especially like the cinema because the seats are wider and you can take in a drink from the bar.

Limited opening times and limited box office opening times too. And when there is an event on, it closes, along with the bar, rather early for my liking. After a show or gig many people like to hang around for a drink and chat. This is not possible here. And moreover the range of events is now quite limited compared to what it was like some years ago. Mainly commercial stuff, rather than anything 'leftfield', and hardly any rock bands at all. Definitely gone down in my estimation since it was renovated at huge cost a few years ago.
