“Good but could be brilliant”
Reviewed July 13, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This house is pet friendly, clean, close to the harbour and town, and mostly well-equipped with everything you could need but lacks hanging space for clothes/towels and places to put anything, particularly in the bedrooms. It also has the two most spectacularly uncomfortable sofas we have ever come across. We ended up having to sit on the wooden dining room chairs instead as the sofas were so bad, which is not what you would expect given the cost of a week's rental. Also, the house was full of overpowering scented candles and oils, which were swiftly relegated to a far corner of the house on arrival. There is no garden, just a paved back yard so not great for dogs. Not all the doors and windows opened either, which was a shame given the fine weather we had.

I am sorry to learn that you didn't find the Cottage as comfortable as you were expecting. I pride myself on the Cottage being a 5* property, particularly with the standard of furnishings and fittings. The sofas are from Heals and Ligne Roset, both less than three years old so am very surprised you found them to be so uncomfortable. The garden is a small patio, as advertised and photographed on the site, and I am one of the few properties that allows pets. Within three minutes walk from the house are miles of walks along the Poole Harbour nature reserve, so plenty of exercise for dogs. Concerning your feedback on the lack of space, there are fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and plenty of hooks and have found this to be sufficient for a 1-2 week holiday break. The first floor windows cannot be opened very extensively for safety reasons for families travelling with young children. Regarding the back door in the utility area, I am awaiting a security key as the key was mislaid by a previous guest, however the main door to the garden from the dining area and downstairs window opens fully.

Well furnished and presented house. 5 minutes walk to supermarket, High Street shops and the Quay. The only slight problem that we encountered was parking our car relatively close to the property especially during the day time. One of the most comfortable properties that we have stayed in.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this cottage and we love it! the house is done to a really high spec and is a real home from home! so many little touches from the wii and games to the bbq and charcol in the garden! i honestly can not reccomened this cottage enough.
my children love the toys in the living room and the dvds and books in the bedroom.
I love how the kitchen has really good quality equipment in it to use.
you only have to walk a few hundred yards and you are in the town near by there are some amazing places to eat we have found a very good italian on the quay.
i would stay here again in a heart beat! x

“Lovely house - perfect for a short or long break.”

We (3 generation family) stayed here for a long weekend in December 13 and it was so nice to walk in and find it decorated for Xmas. The house is especially well equipped, clean, nicely decorated and we all instantly found it very homely and relaxing. The kitchen has everything you need ( and more) and includes all the basics such as oils, herbs, condiments etc which means that you do not have to take these yourself. The house was warm, plenty of hot water and additionally logs supplied for the wood burner. The bathrooms ( one family and one en suite) are also well designed and finding they are supplied with my favourite "nougat" toiletries added to my delight in the house. The beds/ pillows are very comfortable. Parking nearby is easy and you can use the car parks close by at weekends ( with permits) The owner was very quick to respond and promptly returned our damage deposit soon after we returned.
Outside there is a small courtyard which I imagine would be nice in the summer for a BBQ etc. It is also very secure so no worries if you have children or have taken your dog.

Location wise it is in a residential area which is a short, flat walking distance to Poole Quay and town which itself is charming with some very good restaurants nearby. There is also a supermarket a short distance away for groceries etc. if required. All in all - highly recommended and I hope to return soon.

“A perfect place for our two young families to spend the weekend”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

We returned last night from this cottage and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The cottage is kitted out to a really high standard with everything thought of, that you might need. Christmas decorations were up, which was a lovely touch. Our party was made up of 4 adults and 2 toddlers and we had more than enough space for us. With stair gates, toys, TV in the rooms and a wii, it was perfect for keeping the kids entertained and safe. Just a 2 min walk to Poole high street and quay, it was the perfect location. We will definitely be returning here.

“A beautfully designed cottage close to the quayside”

I used the train to get to Poole and was surprised at how easy it was to walk through the town centre to get to the rental place. The open plan space downstairs with the comfortable sofas, wooden floors and log burner (with the logs supplied!) is really well designed. The kitchen has just about every utensil you might need, all brand new ovens and extras like a Nespresso machine (I brought my own capsules but some were provided). The beds and bedlinen all look spanking new and are really comfortable. The bathroom is almost 5* hotel spec with a rainshower, separate bath etc. It was a short walk to the quayside and the old town with restaurants and pubs but a car would be useful to explore a bit further afield or if you want to get to some of the beaches at Sandbanks.

“immaculate & luxurious house”
Reviewed January 17, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

excellent property, immaculately presented, high standard of cleanliness. More luxury than most hotels, with thoughtful extras that most people would never need! Owner has thought about features and covered most aspects of people's stay - especially with thought to those travelling with children, or during the summer months. Although property is not in the most stunning area (views are not amazing) the proximity to town etc more than made up for it. Owner was exceptional with correspondence and speedy replies/service.
