Had a lunchtime drink at the bar and then booked for a birthday lunch for the following day. The birthday was my 92 year old mother who needs a gluten free diet. The staff were very welcoming and went to great pains to make sure we had what was needed and adjusted any dish to dietry requirements. Food was well presented and we didn't have a long wait between ordering and food arriving.

6 of us had a really good meal at the Cliff yesterday evening.
Food choices good & service was excellent. We had a really good evening.
A brief comment about the chairs - you cannot lean back in them as they are more like small arm chairs than table dining chairs. You cannot lean back in them. And the feet dig into the hessian type carpet, meaning they tilt back when you try to stand, so that you are in danger of toppling backwards.
Good food, recommended restaurant. Give it a try.

Food excellent, service very good. Good choice on the menu and the atmosphere was very buzzy. Lots of upmarket cars in the car park.

I went to The Cliff with my friends and although we enjoyed ourselves we had a few problems.

My friend ordered fish as she has food intolerances this was her only option; it came out smothered in cream- the menu did not mention cream what so ever and it was not mentioned when ordered so we had to send it back- meaning she had to wait whilst everyone else tucked in, she had to sit and wait for her food to be re- cooked.

Unused wine Glasses and crockery collected whilst we were still eating was a little off putting.

Ordered a tea after the meal but it came out in a cafetiere coffee press- stank and tasted of coffee and was so weak as the tea bag was squashed at the bottom- very odd. Just ask for a mug with the tea bag in as they said they don't have tea pots?!

On our receipt it said crisps on arrival but we had no crisps which was strange

Overall ok. Lovely building in a great location but I would go just for a drink.

Just off the beach and with a good outdoor patio, this is a good quality gastro pub. Nice atmosphere although can feel a little cliquey. Usually very busy and the food is to a good standard.
