Staying in Sandbanks for a short break and went over to Poole for a late walk along the harbour/quay. Decided on an early-ish Supper before returning. Poole was at first disappointing - as all the decent looking places were chain restaurants. But after a walk around town, stumbled upon this lovely restaurant - Off Quay. You never want to go in a restaurant and be the first customers - but it was only 6.20pm. So we braved our way in and were very glad we did! The restaurant hostess Sylvia gave us a very warm welcome and a lovely table. The decor is bright and clean. Modern but not uncomfortable. We had classic Moules and Cajan Chicken with a bottle of Presecco - which was gorgeous. The presentation of the food really is very impressive. I normally have a sweet tooth, but was tempted by the cheese board which came on nice slate boards with excellent crackers and yummy chutney - BF had Pimms Trifle which was quirky but a triumph. We could have stayed long into the night, and didn't feel hurried at all. In the end we didn't leave till 8.15 or so. If we were local we would eat here often. And I dare you just not to have a little draw on your table cloth!

We celebrated our Anniversary with 11 other friends and family, the lovely people who run the Off Quay closed the place, to be able to give us their undivided attention. The food and the service was excellent, everyone enjoyed the lovely evening. I would recommend this place for a special occasion with a small group, we will be going back again for an evening meal. One of Poole's hidden treasures!

If you are visiting Poole and want to go out for one meal, this is the place to go. Superb food cooked to perfection by a couple who are passionate about good food and good customer service. You need to book as they do not double book tables, ie there is no rush to get you out to reuse the table. Not the cheapest in town but well worth every penny spent. Please don't be scared to try some of the unusual combinations, they all work wonderfully. In the words of Arnie, "I'll be back!"

Outstanding and superb 3 course meal. Have eaten all over London and Uk and this small restaurant in nearly at the top of the list. Small but excellent menu with choices of varied meals all sounding mouth watering. The actual food is really top notch for freshness, flavour and texture. Steaks beat the Groucho Restaurant in London. I am hard to please but you have got to go here for a memorable dining experience. Thank you for a truly delicious meal.

Friends and family gathered here to celebrate Ann and Jim,s 40th. wedding anniversary. The owners had closed the restaurant to others and had re-arranged and decorated the tables to provide a cosy environment. The food was first class, evidence provided by empty plates all round and appreciative comments from everyone there. The service was warm and friendly and very much focused on Ann and Jim as one would expect on such an occasion.I would not hesitate to recommend Off Quay to anyone seeking good food in pleasant surroundings served with a smile.
