Staying in Sandbanks for a short break and went over to Poole for a late walk along the harbour/quay. Decided on an early-ish Supper before returning. Poole was at first disappointing - as all the decent looking places were chain restaurants. But after a walk around town, stumbled upon this lovely restaurant - Off Quay. You never want to go in a restaurant and be the first customers - but it was only 6.20pm. So we braved our way in and were very glad we did! The restaurant hostess Sylvia gave us a very warm welcome and a lovely table. The decor is bright and clean. Modern but not uncomfortable. We had classic Moules and Cajan Chicken with a bottle of Presecco - which was gorgeous. The presentation of the food really is very impressive. I normally have a sweet tooth, but was tempted by the cheese board which came on nice slate boards with excellent crackers and yummy chutney - BF had Pimms Trifle which was quirky but a triumph. We could have stayed long into the night, and didn't feel hurried at all. In the end we didn't leave till 8.15 or so. If we were local we would eat here often. And I dare you just not to have a little draw on your table cloth!
