“Hot chocolate”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

Went into the Deli on the quay on Friday afternoon for a quick coffee when we got inside there was no room but some people were just leaving. My brother said that was the best hot chocolate they have tasted i had a latte which all came on a nice serving board, lots to look at while having coffee the only thing i would say was to cover the cakes as everybody stands so close to them.A very busy cafe when we were there people coming in all the time.

“Home-made feel with good view out over quay”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

As the name suggests, this place is well located on the Poole quayside. The food is not great value - it's priced at the upper end of what you'd expect to pay for a quiche and salad (just under £8) and they serving staff actually weighed out the salad portions, which I thought was a little bit OTT. But it was good food nonetheless, and a proper alternative to fish 'n' chips!

The food selection is good for lunch and there are wines and beers available too if you fancy a drink with your meal. The ambiance is particularly nice and at the end of the day that's part of what you're paying for. Nice view if you can sit by the window but it's pretty draughty there on a windy day!

Thanks for your great review. I just wanted to write and explain about the salads being weighed out. Portion control is really important in any restaurant and I would say it happens in 95% of the successful ones. Of course, generally, you don't see it because it happens behind the scenes, but without it and with so many different staff, customers wouldn't know how much of anything they would get on any particular day. So to keep our regulars confident of our consistency, as well as making sure our first time customers are pleased with the portion they are getting, it really is essential to maintain the status quo.

Visited last week with my Christmas after hectic Christmas shopping for a late lunch and some drinks, all homemade which was really nice and also my children were quiet due to their being colouring and play dough available!! Lovely atmosphere, good and service :-)

All I need say is well done. Great environment and great food! Can't believe some of the reviews on here! Great value for what it is and if you have to wait a while who cares! I work 80 hours a week and when I'm back home in Poole this is somewhere that typifies the reason why I choose to live here! If you don't like the prices then their are holiday destinations like Skegness, Margate and Hastings to name but a few where you may feel more at home!!

Thank Steddars
