“What fun!! Even for us "olduns"!”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

Staying for a weekend break in Poole we came across this quirky museum based on Enid Blyton stories and, more particularly, the Illustrator for her books (among others) Alice Soper. Us "fiftysomethings" thoroughly enjoyed the interactive mystery to solve, especially the Secret Tunnel! Other highlights were the three short films shown; one relating to Alice's life and two others depicting the area during the 2nd World War and shortly after (50's?). There are lots of toys and fun things to do for children too - we spent a happy hour and a half there. If you want to relive your youth or take the grandchildren to plesant little museum, I would recommend Ginger Pop Shop!

“Brilliant Trip Back In Time To Our Childhood”
Reviewed December 3, 2011

Who didn't grow up in the UK with Enid Blyton, and Eileen Soper was an illustrator of many of Enid's books. The attraction, which is in an old pub located next to Poole Pottery, not only has a lot of memorabilia from the 1930's to 1960's, it also has a Famous Five style mystery to solve, which is great fun. This is aimed at both educating children in the world that we grew up in, as well as taking us on a trip down memory lane.

Solving the mystery, finding a secret passage, and following the clues, was a wonderful treat, and the whole location is exactly what you would expect to see in a Famous Five type adventure.

We highly recommend this attraction, and as it's right on Poole Quay there are plenty of other pubs, shops and places to see within walking distance.

“brilliant”
Reviewed November 24, 2011

I took my 4 grandchildren so surprised at how much was they enjoyed playing with all the old toys that I remenbered from my childhood. Their ages vary from 10 to 3 years old and everyone of them loved it. We spent a long time exploring and I would highly reccomend it to anyone grown up or small.

“Childhood memories”
Reviewed May 8, 2011

An interesting place to visit. An avid Enid blyton enthusiast lovingly maintains this quirky museum. Retro lovers will find it fascinating. My 4 year old daughter enjoyed the living history lesson and the chance to hold a tea party in the gypsy caravan.
