A 'wet' attraction without a swimming pool! Very exciting, fun and varied (like a wet theme park). Excellent value for money and good "repeat visit" potential!

We had a great day here with three generations of our family. Everyone had a fantastic time. Some of the decor is a bit tired and the cafe is NOT a cafe. It sells hotdogs and chips. No fresh sandwiches (3 old looking meat ones were on offer but there were 8 of us), no salads, no soups and no cakes. Basically, nothing I'd normally expect to find in a cafe which was disappointing as we were there 6 hours and there is a policy of not allowing your own food in. Luckily we all eat chips but it wouldn't be my first lunch option.

All in all, a fun day for everyone.

I won a family pass in a radio competition which I was hoping to use when my relatives visited in the Summer. As their visit didn't materialise I decided to use it for a solo visit. Bonus! - they said I could use it for 4 solo visits (and I've already used 2 of them). The outdoor rides are open until the end of October. I braved one of them and then retreated to the indoor warmth!! One of the rides I particularly liked was the tube ride. At this time of year it starts indoors, takes you outside for a while (water is heated) and then back into the building.

There are plenty of indoor rides; they're graded in terms of easy, medium and severe so you should have some idea of what you're letting yourself in for!! The 'Infinity' ride plays music (you pick the genre), after speeding down the tube you go round a couple of times before dropping into comparitively deep water. Despite my bruised shins I still had a great time!!

Visited during half term with my grandson and had a great day - both he and my husband went on numerous slides - i only went on some of the easier ones
Luckily he got chatting to 2 other boys and it saved my husband having to go on so many for which he will be eternally grateful
You can obtain a certificate at the end of your visit which states how many rides he completed which he thought was really cool
Would recommend for children his age

Had a fantastic morning on the flumes with my partner and our 6 year old. We did the early bird offer and we’re glad we did as had no queues for the first half of our visit but then it started to get quite busy. Our boy is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and was really pleased he was able to do every slide as some places have age/height restrictions he doesn’t meet. We’ve been to Splashdown Quaywest at Goodrington too and this one is just as good if not better!

we went in august we knew that it was school holidays but we went on a Wednesday and not in the first week of the holidays
but it was so full we arrived early and glad we did we managed to get a ride on most of the rides before the queues became to long
so I would say get there for opening time
we were a group of 6 adults and 6 children age from 4 to 12
apart from the 4 year old they can all swim the 4 year old is learning so is not scared of the water not being scared of the water is important
because at some point you will go under the water
also the slides with small children you really need two adults one to go first then the children and a adult to go last
one adult to go first to make sure that the child clears away from the splash down area and one adult to go last to make sure the child enters the slide
none of the children fell off on the lazy river ride only me
but as I said the rides did become so busy on the lazy river ride it became to easy to be cut off from the children but that had nothing to do with the ride it was just the numbers off people its such a fun place that it really needs to be much bigger
in the summer anyway
also we did not let the children go on any rides we fell were a bit much for them
like the space bowl it should be fine for a 12 year old but our 12 year old has downs syndrome so I did not think he would cope with it but he was fine on other rides but he can swim and again some one in front to make sure he clears the exit and someone to make sure he gets in he had to have two people with him just as I would recommend for all small children
it was a good day out arrive early a all day ticket would not have helped us
it was so busy that we just have spent longer in the queues
splash down is open on cold days but for the best you do need hot days
but hot days are the busy days

I visited today and had a really scary experience with my 4 year old. When we arrived she and her sister were excited and wanted to go on the ride with the tyres. We grabbed them and went upstairs. When we got to the top I asked a lifeguard if it was gentle and OK for my young one. He said yes! It wasn’t. She fell out of her tyre and could not safely touch the bottom despite meeting the minimum height requirement. Thank god my sister and I hadn’t become separated from her as the lifeguards hadn’t noticed any of this. Thankfully I was able to get her down the rest of the ride safely.

Whilst there were 2 posters at ground level giving info about the severity of the rides there could be more signage as you climb to them as I found it very difficult to work out which slides were what severity.. I also think the height restrictions are wrong. A 1m tall child cannot safely stand up in water that is ‘just over a meter’. The website states children need to be confident in water. Being confident doesn’t necessarily mean they can swim well - so they do need to be able to stand up!

I’m not usually a big health and safety fan but I thought Splashdown fell short in terms of staff and the right level of info provided in the right places.

Thank you for leaving a review Emily A, I am sorry to learn you didn’t feel safe at Splashdown, that would be the last thing that we would want. I wish to reassure you that we have extensive health and safety procedures and have operated a very safe park for more than 25 years. In addition to the signage in the changing rooms and ground level there is a sign at the start of every ride which corresponds with the slide guide and a special section on the website regarding visiting with smaller children. On these signs are the rides severity, water depths and safety instructions for the riders. However, in response to your comments we will revisit the signage in the park to see if there is anyway it can be improved and will speak with the lifeguard team manager to highlight the issue you mentioned to ensure their team are confident in explaining the nature of the slide to parents.

We purchased an all day band online which we thought was reasonable for an extra £3 compared to the standard 2 hour entry, I also added the hot food meal deal.
No issues arriving lockers are £1 and somewhat small so we needed a couple.
Apart from toilets there is no mirror to do your hair or make up at the end - could an area be added?
Had lots of fun! did find that there probably wasn’t enough lifeguards on the lazy river as there was some boisterous groups of teen boys and at one point I got trapped under the tyres on the lazy river after coming out of the black hole which was a bit scary, as a 38 year old women I was shocked when the lifeguard had a go at me when I managed to come out and was particularly shocked and let the boys charge on! I think the lifeguards are young themselves and found it easier to be rude to me which was upsetting as I was shocked and on the verge of tears.
Perhaps a limited number of groups of teens would be helpful? Or just more staff to enforce rules.
Food was ok service was slow as nothing was ready but staff cheerfully brought it over as and when it was ready.
We stayed all day from 11 till 5 and did all the flumes, our girls had a brilliant time and had to be dragged back to the changing rooms as the place was closing! As the day went the place got quieter which was far more pleasant.
I know there is a few negatives however I only make these as a few small changes would really improve the experience.

It’s quite small but they have made very good use of the space. There is a good number of slides from mild to thrilling. Our children aged 10 & 8 loved it and spent the whole day and could have stayed all night if they were allowed. On that basis the price is fairly reasonable for a full day out.

I took my son and one of his friends to Splashdown for the afternoon. I didn't go on any of the water slides, I stayed in the cafe section. The kids really enjoyed themselves and all the slides on offer. They were entertained for hours. If you are out of ideas as to what to do with the children for an afternoon or morning give Splashdown a go!
