Owner description: Splashdown Waterpark is a great day out for family and friends. There’s something for everyone – from big kids to little ones – with some of the UK’s most exciting waterflumes. For the thrill-seekers, brave the Screamer with its sheer vertical drop. Plunge into darkness on the Black Thunder. And hold on to your pants as you shoot down the Spacebowl like a human pinball. Or if that sounds a bit like hard work, just go with the flow on the Mississippi Drifter. There’s the fabulous Little Buccaneers SplashZone with a starter flume, water play area and Buccaneer Bay, our toddler swimming pool. And, on a hot summer’s day, Buccaneer Beach is the perfect spot for a splash with the little ones. There’s even somewhere to play for little landlubbers. We’re open all year with indoor rides in the winter. In the spring, we take the slide outside where the Mississippi pours into the Grand Canyon. And, in May, bring on the awesome Screamer Tower – it’s fluming good fun! What are you waiting for?

“not good value”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

changing rooms and toilets cramped and unclean, the whole place was managed poorly by poorly paid teenagers and agree with the other reviews about kids being allowed to run riot creating dangerous situations. Cramped cafe area with nowhere to consume your own food, basically just a big a rip off for the amount you pay. Our older kids liked it but definatley not a classic family day out.

“Ok but no pool”
Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

Slides are fun and some are very fast! Was a bit disappointed that there was no real pool, just the rides.

“Definitely worth a visit but the lifeguards need sorting out!”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Had great fun at Splashdown, we were warm enough and had fun on the rides. The shorter ticket was plenty of time to try everything there. I would definitely go again! However the lifeguards were not interested in what was going on at all, groups of teenagers were running riot, causing dangerous situations and disobeying all the rules. The lifeguards had no authority and just ignored everything. I wasn't at all confident that if we got into trouble in the water or down one of the slides they would even notice. With the prices charged I would expect Splashdown to be able to employ and train better lifeguards! Come on guys, sort it out!!

“Cold, shabby and rubbish”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

My daughter is 3 and thought would be fun to this place but kids pool area had cold water which I brought to attention of a life guard but they didn't co-operated and was turned down. We ourself felt water very cold and had to ditch the place in end after a hour or so..There was some nasty cold air conditioning blow near jaccuzi too. Splashdown is terrible. If they can't provide service then they should close this place.

I have been to other water worlds such as butlins etc and they do have hot water (28'C) for kids which is sensible..

The changing area is shabby and overcrowded with lockers. More lockers are there then can accommodate public in the pool. And it's very congested, dirty and horrible. Showers were cold too and with infrequent in flow of water. Not good.

The amount they charge is ridiculous and is not worth at all. If you are reading this review, then I fully advise to not to visit this place. And one more thing, even if you do go ahead then don't be surprised if you are surrounded by teenagers with feel of yourself being in a school.

“Cold and shabby”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Visited Splashdown in Poole with two children. The place was full of teenage children who were clearly having a good time. However, both of our children who were younger found the place far too cold (as did we), such that eventually we had to leave. We raised this issue with a member of staff on two separate occasions, including the duty manager. Quite frankly they did not seem to care, recognizing that we had a legitimate concern or apologizing. A previous reviewer noted that it seemed to be run by "kids who did not care"....we would share that sentiment!

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Beyond the temperature, is showing signs of age and lack of upkeep - quire frankly it looks shabby. Not cheap for what it is. They also do not seem to control the number of people admitted, which means lots of time spent waiting.
