Great service, lovely rooms and fantastic array of drinks and wine make this a fave. Just off the quay so away from the noise but close enough. Don't really like the citrus based products but that's personal taste. Breakfast is very good except the worst hash brown I have ever tried to eat! They also catered for my brothers 25th wedding anniversary lunch and again that was just great! This chain of hotels is just wonderful. Highly recommend

We paid a bit extra for a junior suite which was well worth it . Lovely room . We had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic . No complaints . Pricey drinks but you expect this if you want to stay somewhere nice

We stayed at The Hotel Du Vin in Poole to celebrate my birthday. We used to live in Dorset and frequently went to the restaurant in the hotel which at the time was The Mansion House. The Hotel Du Vin group took over the hotel about 5 years ago.
The hotel has been re-furbished and is very good. Our room was lovely and we had an enormous rainfall shower in the bathroom which was lovely. We also had a small balcony which was a bonus.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening of my birthday and were very disappointed. The restaurant was less than one third full and it soon became clear why. The food was very mediocre and my veal escalope came on a plate with nothing else but a small slice of lemon, no garnish no vegetables, nothing. The previous evening we ate at The Guildhall Tavern just along from the hotel and it was so busy (on a Wednesday evening) it had 2 sittings and we had to eat at 6.30 to get a table and it was full.
My other minor gripe is that residents at the hotel are charged £10 to park in the hotel car park.
The staff were friendly and efficient but it was all let down by the food.

Nice hotel, rooms good but small. Biggest disappointment is that they don't keep dinner tables for people staying in the hotel. We could only get a table before 6 or after 9pm. We weren't asked if we wanted to book dinner when we booked the room. Pity.

Had a nice meal overall but thought the restaurant was too dark and the service could have been better. Read a lot of good reviews but it didn't live up to my expectations. Would recommend it to couples who wanted an expensive dinning experience.
