Stayed for one night recently whilst visiting our daughter.

Positives: very nice room, bath in the room and HUGE shower, great breakfast, lovely orange juice and nice sheets.

Negatives: Dull view from our window of the kitchen extractors and air conditioning, noisy 40th and hen parties had taken over the bar which was very welcoming. Parking charge and very limited parking (we had to park in the public car park but still pay the hotel) I really think given the cost of the room that this is just penny pinching (it was the same at their hotel in York). I know not everyone has a car that stays but £10 a night is a bit steep.

Went here for a quick weekend away and loved every bit of the stay from its location in the old part of town, the lovely and interesting building, the fantastic hotel rooms and the quality of the food and service. Would really recommend this hotel and would without doubt go back!!

This is a good quality hotel with good service. With a nice room, dinner and parking it was over 300 notes but we were treating ourselves (plus we were gifted a voucher covering half the cost).

Room was vast and so was the bed. Nice quality fit and finish let down a only a tiny bit by bath taps too close to wall (i.e. touching) and the bath panel warped by damp.

Had a lovely stay, staff great and the building is full of character. Nice place to treat yourself.

We have been coming here for years now. It used to be the old Mansion house hotel. The architecture is stunning and well worth coming in here just for a drink even of you are not staying here. It is in the beautiful old part of Poole and is surrounded by stunning Georgian properties. It is the perfect weekend location as you can walk to numerous restaurants from here. Car parking is quite steep though !

The staff are always delightful and efficient. The main bar area is relaxing g but with a buzz, and there is a small snug with a log fire for a quiet relaxing drink.

All the rooms have different decoration and configuration so ask when booking which facilities each room has. It's is probably the best hotel in Poole.

Room Tip: Ask about the different facilities in the rooms. They are all decorated differently.

In a handy location just off the quayside, the hotel is a charming Georgian house which has been tastefully decorated and furnished, and the rooms are named after wines and wine producers. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large roll topped bath and bathrobes. We had an aperitif in the bar before a meal in the bistro and the staff were attentive without being intrusive, and one of the best G&T's I have tasted in a while! If you get a chance to try it, the barbers 1833 twice baked cheese souffle is a must - as light as a feather and melt in the mouth. The monkfish grand-mere was also excellent. The sommelier recommended a perfect wine to go with the food. All in all a wonderful evening. I'd certainly recommend the hotel for a relaxing break or even just a meal in the bistro.

A wonderful waitress found a wallet left by one of our party, and remembering that in conversation we had said we may be moving to a nearby establishment, ,Ran to the public house looking for us, she later located us in the snug at the Hotel du Vin where she handed the wallet to the greatly appreciative owner.

What a wonderful ending to an enjoyable evening that started with a wine tasting experience followed by a tasty dinner in lovely surroundings. Thank you waitress so much for your dedication to duty.

Can't say a bad word. Handy for waterfront and ferry terminal. Good decor and very attentive staff. Dog friendly and had a lively room with safe and private courtyard. Even Nespresso machine in room. Bistro is fabulous with lovely atmosphere.
