To sum it up - it was a blast!
An hour of riding, with about 30 mins of prep time to suit up, short walk to the skis and instructions. It was my first time on Jet skis. Took me a couple of mins to get the hang of it. Bumped on to the side once. We spent about 15 mins to get a better hang of the craft, and then we were off. Weather wasn't great that day, and the water was a little choppy once we headed out into deeper waters. The skis were pretty powerful - 1500cc engines, and apparently can do 50 mph. That's pretty fast on water.
The plan was to head towards Old Harry's rocks. We couldn't get that far cause as I mentioned, the water was choppy. Occasionally, the drop from the top of the crest to the trough was about a meter. It was pretty exciting and was a wild ride. I was doing a decent clip regardless of the weather, and so managed to get thrown off once, but it's no problem really. You simply swim to the ski, clambered back on, and off you go again.
* Bring goggles, particularly if you are wearing contact lens. Quite a bit of spray can come your way
* There are no lockers. So locking valuables in your car works best
* The walk to the skis is made barefoot. If you have sensitive feet, bring slippers you could afford to lose. At the end of the walk, you will have to be left in the open in the jet ski parking area
