We had five nights at this hotel...the location is amazing, the back of the hotel leads right onto the beach and you felt that you could be anywhere in the world, the view of the sea was stunning, there were plenty of tables and chairs to take in the view if you so wished. There were lovely beach walks from the hotel and you could either use the path or the beach itself. If you wanted to do so you could walk to bournemouth from the beach it's about 2 1/2 miles by road so you get the idea of the distance. For reference poole is also about 2 1/2 miles in the opposite direction.
Our balcony room on the other side of the hotel looked over the bay and to poole in the distance, it was a fantastic view and it felt like being overseas! Our room was more like a suite, sofa, two chairs etc,. Tea coffee facilities and two sink bathroom. It was a clean, tidy room with all you needed.
The hotel itself is coming to the time of a bit of updating, the reception area, bar and lounge space was quite adequate although carpet on the lift walls was a bit strange. The dining area was very bright and spacious and all staff ie: reception, bar and restaurant were all very friendly and helpful.
Our only criticism of our stay was the evening set menu? Why! Yes, the first night we stayed we had a meal and the food was lovely but it wasn't what I wanted to eat, I wanted a steak but there wasn't anything like that! On one of the nights we had room service and you had a really good choice at a very good price and you had a lot better choice and steak etc,. Our room service food was fantastic and if they could do flame grilled etc, in the restaurant I think they would make a killing and we would have eaten there most of the time, but you will love the buffet breakfast, full English or continental, superb!
To round up it was very reasonably priced with a very big balcony room and superb setting with being central to a lot of attractions.
