We were guests at a lunch time wedding so arrived before the room was ready, but no problem, it was readied very quickly so we could use it to change in. Room was a suite really which was much more than we expected and fantastic value, with a view from the third floor over Poole harbour and the brent geese, oystercatchers etc that was worth the money on its own! Comfy bed, all mod cons; difficult to cool the room down at night though. Breakfast (included) was extremely good too.

Have just returned from an overnight stay to celebrate my partners birthday. Having been to the hotel before I knew what to expect, but I really impressed with many aspects of the overnight break. The welcome was friendly and efficient. The room was not ready until later in the day, but an offer was made to look after luggage. The only gripe I had was that having checked in, but not having been given a room, we could not then start charging items to the room, so had to pay cash for coffee's, etc, which was a tad inconveniant. The room was large and had a lovely view over the harbour - the only disappointment was the quality of the fixtures - could do with a revamp. We also appeared to have two TVs - one on the wall, the other infront of it on the dresser? The bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleeps was not hard to obtain! The real downside to the hotel is the pool area - it was looking very tired, rusty and in need to some money spent on it. It really does let down what is otherwise a very classy and upmarked establishment. The views truly are stunning.

Room Tip: A higher priced sea view room is not worth the extra - looking over Poole Harbour is equally attract...

Very pleasant hotel had one of the rooms with a view of the sea (which was only 50 yards away) and was the most beautiful room. A little tired in decor but I believe they have started redecorating but the views are to die for. The food was very good and breakfast was also very good. In fact we had no complaints at all and found it a very comfortable place to spend some time. There is a sun terrance with a bar and this is a lovely place to watch the sun go down or just watch the world go by. Would definitely return without a doubt. Staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. WELL DONE!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra money on having a sea view room you will not be disappointed.

Reading other reviews prior to my visit may have put me off ,however I knew the location was superb and we managed to get a really good price through voyage prive , well it was fabulous ,the staff were very helpful and friendly , and the service in the restaurant was 1st class ,food was excellant .....and it was lovely to dress up in the evening . I would certainly return and reccommend it highly

Room Tip: Pick the sea side ,rather than the harbour side

Great location, excellent food and staff very friendly. To their credit are a family friendly hotel but staff need to be a little more assertive when young children are being allowed by parents to have a negative impact on other guests stay.

To be completely fair when raised management dealt effectively with it. A curfew of 9.00 pm on the bar area would be a good idea

Enjoyed our stay and would return

Room Tip: Ask for room on sea side and with a separate sitting room.

Booked this hotel before reading the reviews and then it was too late to cancel as I was concerned as to what it would be like. Stayed for one night - Friday- and agree that the carpets do need updating but disagree with the other comments. Friday night was still part of the Halloween theme at the hotel and having joined in the scary walk loved every minute of it.
Our room was on the second floor with views over the estuary - gave the hotel a slightly European feel. It's worth paying slightly extra for a room with a balcony - if we go again we would want a room on the other side of the hotel with a sea view, will cost twenty pounds more but it would have been good to watch the storm roll in very early in the morning.
We had breakfast at the hotel and there was a reasonable offering. To be truly 4 Star the hotel does need some money spent on it but the staff were helpful, the rooms are clean; warm and a good size. One of the better hotels in the area.

We spent two nights at Sandbanks funded partly by an e-voucher and paid a little extra for a room with a balcony and a harbour view. It was a delightful break with plenty of car parking space, large bedroom, enormous bed and clean and practical bathroom. The location is fantastic. With the sea on both sides of the hotel with a glorious, end seemingly endless stretch of sandy beach accessible from the well furnished terrace. There were families there, with many supervised activities for the children throughout the weekend. All of the staff were delightful, pleasant, helpful and there were plenty of them too, nothing was too much trouble. The tea an coffee making facilities in the bedroom were generous and good quality. This hotel is making a real effort to compete with resort hotels abroad. Well done Sandbanks - we hope to be back!
