Have stayed at the hotel twice in the last 4 weeks first with friends, then with family. The staff are the best ever, always very friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel. The location is brilliant and the views beautiful, what more can anyone want. The managers should be very very proud of all their staff. Well done to you all.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are the best

This is an outstanding hotel with extraordinary staff! We are frequent and long standing customers/visitors to the Haven, over the last 20 years we have had endless wonderful stays and each time it has been a visit to remember. Just last week our family was there, aged between 89 and 6 and the staff welcomed us all and helped us through some special needs and problems. Anyone who has a problem at the hotel only needs to ask for some help and they will get it. Those that have a problem and then grumble about only have themselves to blame. We look forward to our next visit and this includes the 89 and the 6 yr old.... and all of us in between. Thank you The Haven for your wonderful welcome and care.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable - wonderful views from the pool deck, the terrace and the bar. The building itself looks like 30s Deco - rather a cruise ship effect - and is generally charming. The pool deck itself was terrific - one of the best I've come across for the outside pool. Good service at the bar, loads of high quality chairs and sunbeds, view over the sea and a gate down to the beautiful and charming beach. Luckily we had great weather for the weekend and were able to really make the most of it. Bar was busy and drinks were typical hotel prices. Service from everyone was really good. Downside - the hotel itself is dated with brown carpets and simply doesn't match up to the location/exterior: although the room was clean I didn't like the feel of the sheets and the bed was far too soft. BUT we didn't go for that, we went for the exterior and location and that was worth it in spades. Didn't eat in the restaurant - took at taxi to Poole Harbour which was a pricey £15 each way and was a bit 'pizza and pasta' when we got there - wish we hadn't bothered. Spa pool etc was small and lots of children (was the holidays after all), so not sure I would recommend it for a spa break. Just go for the views and the outdoors and you won't be disappointed. We will go back.

As pop in visitors we went for a couple of quick G&Ts and had a nice time- despite the gloomy weather. The chips were chunky and fulfilling, portions a little on the small side. Prices are on the high end of the spectrum and service was a tad scattered but when attending were very welcoming and helpful. The view is great, you can see people enjoying the beach across the waters at Shell Bay. For a quick drink it was worth while.

Very poor choice of food and this quality you can get at any roadside pub, you don't need to pay these prices to get food this average. I think Basil Fawlty is in charge, for example if you smoke you are fined £250, if on your day of leaving you are not out by 11am you are fined £10 per hour past 11am. The cleaners want you out early every day and make sure they bang corridor doors from 8am ish. Great views are the only reason to stay here, remember you have been warned !!! Oh and no air conditioning, what a joke at these prices.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night last week, hotel was lovely and spacious; staff were extremely friendly; food was great in the restaurant and the location was brilliant, especially so if you need the ferry as it's literally a stone throw away.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Luckily it was not very hot because ther is no air con although they do provide a fan. Good size room and large bathroom with shower and twin sinks. The hot taps only pruduced a dribble and need attention. Booked a king size bed but this was not what we got.
Decent size flat screen TV, tea/coffee making provided. Room service was fast and the food was good but not cheap. The breakfast buffet was very good and the hotel was clean. Free parking and a big car park. There is a spa with indoor and outdoor pools but we did not use it. Best feature of the hotel is the position right on Sandbanks lovely sandy beach with a view to the Isle of Wight and Brownsea Island.

Room Tip: If you are staying for more than 2 nights the additional cost for a sea view room would be good valu...
