We stayed two nights and had a large room overlooking the car park. The decor was very tired, with stained carpet and lino in bathroom past its best. However, we dined in the new-looking restaurant both nights and had superb meals both nights - and the design allowed us to converse easily even though the restaurant was busy. The waiting staff we excellent. Breakfast buffet was a treat and kept replenished. I'd stay again, but maybe splash out on a better room overlooking the sea.

Room Tip: try to get a deal on a sea facing room

I can't imagine a better location for Sandbanks - right on the sea with fantastic views. Our bedroom was a little disappointing for the price (dated furniture etc), but perhaps we were unlucky. Good bar food served and a popular restaurant with an emphasis on local seafood- again in a great setting

Room Tip: Although more expensive, a sea view balcony!

Superb location and food, very friendly staff.
We had a deal through secret escapes, and had a room overlooking the car park. A room with a sea view would be superb if you could afford it.
The evening meal is highly recommended.
Can't wait to go back and try the pool.

The sun was shining and we thought that it would be great to sit outside and watch the maritime activities as we ate lunch.
The service was good, but the food was somewhat disappointing. The panini was overdone, to the extent that it was effectively burned on the underside, and the salmon club sandwich was accompanied by plain lettuce - no tomato, no other salad, no dressing - no effort had gone into making the garnish more appetising than a few leaves of lettuce. This hotel has pretensions of being a class venue, but really does fall short. It was overpriced too, but on arrival, we had decided that for the location, then it was a price worth paying. I could not recommend this hotel as a place to eat.

I spend only a night during a business trip and I was surprised next morning I had not hot water in the shower. Bathroom was tiny, I has to close the door to access the toilet or sink. Additionally, breakfast only starts at 7.30 and they did't offer anything to go such cereal bar or muffin... Just an awful and no-charming morning at that hotel.

I completely agree with the Location being stunning and we were so fortunate with the weather being amazing, stayed the first few days of September and even sunbathed on the beach!! That said on arrival there was no mention when booking in ( at 2pm) that it was advisable to book a table for evening meal as when we tried at 5pm the only table available was at 8:45 a little late for us!! There were no other restaurants within walking distance so a taxi to Poole for £15 each way was needed to get our evening meal. On return back to the hotel a nightcap of large whisky and coke and large vodka and coke was £18.60 slightly London prices!! The second day we booked our evening table for a sea view @ 7:30 and when we went to be seated they did not have our reservation and we could only sit on a second row from the sea as all table were reserved!! Again another trip into Poole to eat as this was my husbands birthday evening and we wanted it to be special needless to say another £30 on taxi's was spent!! Overall the hotel is dated and the staff of which most were not conversant in English, had a could not be bothered attitude that does not match its 4 star billing. This is my first review on trip advisor but I feel strongly that a review that reflects the hotel not the location needs to be posted.

Stayed for a family birthday as a group of 20. Great location with fantastic views. Great breakfast with lots of choice, good facilities like pool, sauna, gym. Just a little tired, could do with a bit of a lift in to 2013 but well worth a stay.

Room Tip: get a balcony room overlooking the sea
