Just back from a groupon break, the hotel was great. The views were remarkable, with lots going on. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the bar area. Our room, harbour side, was very comfortable, with all we needed. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Worth paying for upgrade on room, wonderful views

just had two very nice days at the Haven, only fault i had was that there were no details in the room, i asked twice if they did any other food than the 2 or3 course menu and was told NO . as their was nothing we fancied we went to Poole and had an Italian. On the second night when we returned and went into the bar for a drink we saw people eating when we asked they actually do bar meals Mon to Friday we had made a trip we did,nt want to do was unnecessary, so just ask.Our room was large and comfortable and the hotel was very clean, really enjoyed our stay would go again.

Room Tip: our room was overlooking the car park but then didnt want to stay in the room, room 139 think odd nu...

I cannot fault the Haven Hotel, a beautiful setting and well kept on the inside too. Staff were friendly and helpful and La Roche restaurant served a very nice a la carte menu, that was worth the expense. Overall, excellent hotel and enjoyable weekend break in Sandbanks.

The bar area in this hotel has one of the finest views in all the Poole area. You can sit and watch the chain ferry, the cross channel ferries and yachts as they pass. You may also see the Royal Marines out on manoevres, as we did, which can be exciting as it usually involves a large helicopter too!

Good coffee, specialist teas etc.

Thank you for your review perle369 ! We are glad that you are enjoying our coffees, staff are receiving monthly training on how to do them correctly !
The Royal Marines do come past the hotel on a regular basis and are often escorted by the Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter, certainly always something to see around there.

Lovely big room with large bed, desk, easy chairs, TV, CD player and free wi fi. Large bathroom with two sinks, bath and shower. Some problems getting the TV to work, but this was sorted once we asked. One tap wasn't working properly, but this was also repaired quickly. The Haven is situated on the Sandbanks peninsula, next to the chain link ferry to Swanage. Lovely views across to Brownsea Island and Swanage. Outdoor pool and hot tub, plus indoor pool and jacuzzis. We swam in both pools, but the temperature (24 degrees) could have been warmer! The breakfast is one of the best I've had, with a huge selection available. Situated just over 5 miles from Bournemouth and Poole, and right next to the sandy beach and coastal path.

I have just made a return visit with colleagues to this hotel and it was very enjoyable. The staff are excellent and do all they can to make you feel happy and comfortable. The position of the hotel is wonderful with lovely views of the sea and the ferry. The meeting rooms are well equipped and tea and coffee arrive at regular intervals. The meals are delicious and served with style. There was a bitterly cold wind but the hotel was warm and cosy. I had a lovely corner bedroom with views of the beach and out to sea. It had a balcony but it was too cold to make use of it. My only complaint was the TV that I found very difficult to operate but I must say after one call to reception a member of staff appeared and sorted everything out - this happened several times!!

Room Tip: A room overlooking the sea with a balcony is best if you are lucky.

Rooms are spacious, tea and coffee facilities, trouser press also provided. The hotel could do with a lick of paint and in my opinion is worth the 4 stars but only just. The beachside location (direct access from hotel to beach), the spa (shared facilities for all other FJB Collections hotels on Sandbanks) make it an ideal wedding venue as well as a place to relax in great surroundings and help towards the star rating.

We didn't have a seaview room and I would certainly recommend that people pay the extra if they can although the room we had on the third floor was more than adequate.

The main attraction is the terrace which directly overlooks the sea. Drinks are reasonable and this is an ideal way to spend a couple of hours relaxing with a book and a glass of wine or two. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive.

We ate at the hotel and the quality of the food is very good. Saying that at breakfast time large queues would often form as food ran out very quickly.

I would certainly recommend this hotel although it is more of a treat rather than an everyday run of the mill place to stay.

Room Tip: Worth paying for seaview
