Seriously. Holiday Inn Express is hardly the sort of place you want to review. This chain is so vanilla that you could be in the McDonalds of hotel chains. Just occasionally they find ways to make the experience annoying not anonymous. The evening staff at Poole HI Ex seemed to like the comfort of the inside office and actually serving at the front desk a bit of a chore! Staff wandered around in and out of the back office seemingly as it suited them. I waited a full 5 minutes to be checked in at 6 p.m. My colleague waited longer at around 5:30. Did the arrival of guests after the end of the work day to a business traveller's hotel come as a surprise to these people? Later in the bar the same experience. Just all round poor!
Just to stress the morning staff were much more on the ball and more than helpful so maybe someone (Mr General Manager) needs to look at his staff and perhaps coach some proper customer service skills.More
