“When in Poole don't look any further”

What a find! Beautifully situated, minutes' walk from the train station, overlooking the harbour, the RNLI college is a fabulous place to stay.
The receptionist is incredibly efficient and helpful. The rooms spacious and overlooking the harbour, the bar and restaurant lovely with great staff and nice, nicely priced food and drink. Needless to say that everything is spotlessly clean.
You do wonder though why you have never cared to support the Lifeboats beyond a few coins in your local pub. And you do feel the urge to change that before you leave. By ferry, perhaps. And who knows, someone out there will send an SOS and these guys will be there. What a superb place to stay.

We stayed 2 nights in July and it's a great place. Great views over Holes Bay, rooms are large and comfortable. Enjoyed a good breakfast and perfect bar in the evening overlooking the bay. Greatly located with only a 8 min walk max to Poole Quay- seeing the amazing newly built Twin Sails Bridge on the way. Would highly recommend and the added bonus that our money was going to the RNLI.

Room Tip: Would recommend higher floors.

I stayed during August for one night. The room was on the fourth floor and had great views of Holes Bay. It was spotless and very comfortable. High speed broadband and ample tea/coffee/hot choc/ biscuit supplies. Riggers Restaurant has good views and the food was good, portions generous (all those hungry lifeboat crews!) and the staff friendly and helpful. Lovely cooked breakfast for those who can manage it! Free secure car parking on site. Short walk into Poole old town. Altogether excellent!

This is a modern building set on the inner waterfront at Poole. You could spend all of your stay sat in your room overlooking Holes Bay and Cobbs Quay marina across the water; sat eating lunch, dinner or drinking in Riggers restaurant watching the passing boats heading to and fro from the marina or looking at the iconic Twin Sails of Poole's new 2nd lifting bridge.
The restaurant uses a buffet system for lunch and dinner where you can have set 2 or 3 course meals that are very good value , under £20, or select from the a la carte menu.
My only criticisms are the young waiting staff who need more training, the time taken for drinks to arrive as th waiting staff have to travel the circular staircase each time to the second floor and the length of time to get a reservation as the College is very popular.
All the Poole facilities- Quay, Dolphin shopping centre, Race track, train station, ferries to Studland, Sandbanks and N T Brownsey island are within walking distance.Enjoy!

What a treat. Three excited boys chuffed to bits to stay where the lifeboats train. Simple rooms that were clean and on a par with all the main hotel chains but where this succeeds was the breakfast buffet which was great. Also the bar was very welcoming of the children in the evening which was great as there was a group of us all staying who all had children.

Have stayed twice now. Totally disagree with previous negative reviews. The restaurant staff were students. They are polite, friendly and helpful. Food is very good. Rooms are large and clean. Great views. I would highly recommend staying. You also contribute to RNLI . Why wouldn't you stay here?

I had booked this stay as a treat for my dad, staying on the Friday night, then going on the tour on Saturday morning. We arrived at 5pm on Friday, the reception staff were friendly and efficient. After receiving keys for our rooms on the 4th floor - highly recommended as the views were stunning - we headed to the Slipway bar for refreshments. Again very friendly staff and reasonable prices added to the enjoyment of sitting outside in the sunshine whilst admiring the view. The evening meal was superb value. Two menus available - a 3 course menu for £17.50, or a menu with individual prices. You could choose from both if you wanted. We opted for the first option and were amazed at the quality, presentation and choices of food for this amount of money.
After a good nights sleep - the bed very comfortable, though the room was quite warm- the breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The tour was informative and well worth doing, giving you a much better insight into the work, training of the lifeboat men & women and the charity in general.
All in all, we would highly recommend the hotel & tour, whilst every £ spent contributes to the RNLI continuing their wonderful work.

Room Tip: Fourth floor rooms had brilliant views and were quiet.
