What a wonderful warm welcome we received on our arrival at Laurel Cottage, Jill made us feel at home Instantly.
Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable.
Our en-suite was amazing with very thoughtful personal touches, including the most gorgeous soft thick towels.
Breakfast was a joy with our very attentive, charming lady, (sadly we forgot to ask her name - but our mornings were made that much brighter by her cheerfulness & sense of humour).
The use of the beautiful large garden and swimming pool was an excellent bonus.
Jill & John were fantastic hosts, and we are at a loss to understand the one and only negative review.
Thank you Jill & John, we shall definitely return.

Room Tip: All rooms excellent.

We stayed here for 6 nights with our 6 month old baby. The cottage is absolutely lovely with beautiful garden and spacious, light rooms. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom and we also used the recently updated family bathroom which has a rain-shower and bath tub. The owners catered very well for my dietary requirements and breakfast was plentiful (cooked breakfast plus a range of cereal, toast, fruit etc). They were also very accommodating for our baby by providing a highchair, allowing us to store milk in their fridge and offering us a fan for the room when the weather got hot. The weather was nice enough for us to use the outdoor pool which was also lovely and relaxing. We really enjoyed staying here and I would highly recommend it.

Hi Alison,
thank you so much for your wonderful review. It really makes running a small business so worthwhile, when we have such lovely families as yourselves. If you ever visit us again, please book direct as it is a litter cheaper. Thanks once again, regards John and Jill, and Dulci.

What a lovely place! We stayed at Laurel Cottage for 2 nights in early May. We were made to feel so welcome by Jill (owner). Our room was beautiful (African Room) with a lovely big bathroom. It is a nice quiet location which is so important. Breakfast was made to order and was lovely. Jill showed me through the other rooms and I was blown away by how much care had gone into setting up the B&B. We would definitely stay again if we are over in the UK again and can highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Some rooms can be on the small size. If you have a lot of bags it can make it a bit cramped. Try t...

We were lucky to have a night at, Laurel Cottage given to us as a gift. We stayed the night before catching the Ferry to Jersey. Our stay was a much needed rest up. If you are reading this and wondering what to do....do not hesitate in staying here. Immaculate, friendly, comfortable, great breakfast in fact you will want for nothing. Recommend and would return. Thank you Laurel Cottage for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Book the lovely room with balcony overlooking swimming pool.

I stayed here with my family last summer and never got around to writing a review. As other people have already discovered, this place is a quite simply a charming, typically English, Treasure. From the first moment we arrived we were treated like part of the family and made to feel very much at home. The facilities are excellent. Very clean and tidy, and the bedrooms are well appointed, airy and spacious. Luckily we had superb weather and we spent much of the time in the pool. Obviously much of the success of British holidays is due to the weather and during our stay it felt very much as if we were staying in a Greek island paradise.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at Laurel Cottage over a May bank holiday weekend. We'd chosen Laurel Cottage based on the location first, as it was near our friends' home we were visiting. We also read the reviews and researched many other places before booking. (We travel extensively, throughout each year and all over the world, and have stayed at all kinds of places including B&Bs.) All things considered, we could not have been more pleased with Laurel Cottage. The location in a rural area at the edge of a small village was very convenient for our exploration of Dorset as well as Wiltshire and Hampshire. (If you're visiting the area, Christchurch is not to be missed!) Jill and Wendy both made us feel very much "at home" and took superb care of our every need during our stay. We had the "honeymoon suite" which was beautiful, bright and comfortable, with en-suite and a lovely balcony overlooking gardens and pastures. We're happy to recommend Laurel Cottage to anyone visiting the area and will definitely stay there again when we return.

This is a lovely cottage b&b in the middle of a beautiful countryside. The rooms were great, very clean and the breakfast was amazing. We had the fry, and they met any requests we had, and it wasn't full of grease, which was great. The people were also very welcoming and hospitable.. felt right at home. Highly recommended!
