i have steyed in this ibis a few times due to its good location to were i work, i have had a few moans and groans at the staff until recently when i was working nights and returned to the hotel aprox 6 am to the sound of banging and so on i tried to sleep till i could take no more and went in to work early as the noise was unbelieveable aproached the reception to be told (after asking what the noise was ) that iceland was doing a refit next door and were nocking walls out . on checking out of the hotel spoke to the receptionist regarding the noise and asked for a reduction and was told the manager has now left, and i would need to contact the manager the next day, i contacted the hotel the following day informing the hotel of my situation to be told the manager wasnt in , so have now given up and wont be staying again , as i work away from home most of the year and lodge in hotels it has left me fealing a little bitter towards ibis .

All of our reception staff are highly trained and we make a point of providing guests with a warm, friendly welcome. My sincere apologies if you did not receive this whilst staying in the hotel; I will speak to the reception team regarding your comments and reiterate our customer service standards. As a town centre hotel with shops on our doorstep there will undoubtedly be some noise, however the majority of customers do not experience any sleep disturbance In terms of the noise early hours at the morning unfortunately we cannot stop people to do their refurbishment if local council have give them permission to do some building work. It were 2 days of noise however the vast majority of customers do not experience any problems. If you are unhappy with your room we are always more than happy to offer an alternative room in a different part of the hotel subject to availability.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago and thought it was great.
When we arrived in the evening the staff were friendly and polite. The room was a lovely surprise as it was very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet considering it is right in the centre of the shopping area. Thought it might get noisy at night but not a sound. The bed was very comfortable and I had a really good nights sleep.
In the morning we went down for a full English breakfast. The lady that looks after the breakfasts couldn't do enough for us. There was plenty of good well cooked food available even though we were quite late down.
The hotel is very clean everywhere. The reception was in the process of being renovated and we will be interested to see the finished product when we stay there tomorrow night.
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. We had a chat with the new manager and she is lovely. She was very interested to hear what we thought about the hotel and seemed very keen to put right and problems people might have.
Finding this hotel was a very nice surprise.

My daughter and I stayed at the Ibis last week. Check in was easy and the gentleman was very polite and friendly. The main areas of the hotel appear a little dated however, the rooms have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. We had twin beds and they were very comfy. The only issue was that if you laid on the bed propped up against the headboard to watch tv your bed slid away from under you as they've put laminate flooring down - we actually found this amusing. The room and bathroom were both very clean, the shower new and huge.
We booked through laterooms.com that afternoon and paid £50 for the room.

Regards bed- we already looked at different options and our maintenace team put rubber pads on the bed legs to stop bed sliding.

my stay at the Ibis in Stevenage was fantastic. Centrally located, very well presented rooms and extremely clean. The hotel staff were courteous, friendly and always willing to assist. Will definitely stay here again.

Like previous reviewer, I struggled to find the place initially. Follow signs for Westgate shopper parking. When you see the Westgate short-stay mult-storey car park in front of you, you're almost there. At the roundabout immediately in front of the car park, turn left and the hotel is right in front of you. There is space for dropping off, but no parking. Use the 'short-stay' multi-storey but get your 'chip' validated at hotel reception when you check-out to get special rate of 3.50 per 24-hour period. Seemples!
Good location right in town centre, opposite Tesco Express, about 5 minute stroll from station with regular trains to Kings Cross.
All staff were polite and helpful. Recently refurbished rooms were spotless and very well equipped. Large walk-in shower, and loved the lights activated by stroking the side of the mirror!! Huge double bed was very comfy and extra pillows provided.
Breakfast was reasonable price. I was only expecting continental selection but there was a full cooked buffet as well.
I'd be very happy to use this hotel again and it is a much better option than some of the tiny rooms on offer around Kings Cross.
