Description: With a prime location in the heart of Stevenage Leisure Park, this ASK Italian restaurant has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment. We've created a restaurant with a distinctive new look inspired by modern Italian design. And with the help of our expert friends, including awarding-winning chef Theo Randall, we've created a menu that features a range of simple, classic Italian food and an all Italian wine list.

The new italian burger is very nice. The servive good - you get what you pay for. For a chain one of the better ones - will use again out of the two in Stevenage we prefer the one in the old town little bit more atmosphere.

We arrived at the restaurant at about 9.30 on a Saturday night and to be fair it was fairly quiet which was unexpected as normally these places are packed. The service was not the best even though half of the tables were empty. I would put this down to lack of staff as we only saw a maximum of 2 chefs.

We went here after visiting the 360 play area in Stevenage, we used Tesco Clubcard coupons (exchanged on Tesco clubcard website, £10 got £40 in food vouchers) which made it great and inexpensive, not that it was expensive anyway. Service was excellent, nothing was too much of a problem. the food was exceptionally cooked and portions were great. they were very accommodating in getting a high chair for my baby and taking the coupons. First time ever in an ASK restaurant and I would definitely go back here again! Definitely recommended.

Absolutely horrendous. Took about two and a half hours just to get lunch due to the ridiculously slow service! Quite empty-it wasn't as if the staff were overworked- they were just sitting around chatting to each other! The food was cold and bland and absolutely not worth the wait, as well as the extremely high price. Completely ruined our afternoon, and I would not ever go there again. Do not touch it with a barge pole.

What the hell is going on here?

If I ask for a fish soup that the menu states includes prawns, mussels, clams, calamari, sea bass and potatoes I do not expect to get a tiny dish containing two or three prawns and bugger all else.

I can understand, to an extent, the staff being completely morose as all the other eateries in the area were packed and Ask was deserted. It soon became clear why.

Note to the owners and managers.

You charge WAY too much for the meals that you describe, let alone deliver.

Will give you another chance in 6 months or so. If it is as bad as tonight then I will not pay even 1p let alone give you a tip.

Sort it out.
