Four of us went for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent and the service good without being overly attentive.
The setting better suits a sunny day but the weather, even on a miserable day, cannot spoil what is a lovely view across the Marina to the old Custom House and the renovated docks.
So why the kink in the rating.
Had to ask what soup of the day was.
Celeriac, Mustard and Bacon I think. I'll just check.
Sorry it's Celeriac, Apple and Mustard. (sounds good so went with it)
It arrived with lumps in so had a close look and showed the waitress a piece of bacon.
Sorry I'll ask chef
It's not bacon it's lardons. Aren't lardons bacon pieces
The soup was excellent but not the vegetarian option.
The chips were made from Sweet potato for all lunch time options but the menu gave the impression that only two came with sweet, the others ordinary potato.
The restaurant has a bakery next door and speciality bread is available from the restaurant.
