We throughly enjoyed dining at the Townhouse.

The interior has a stylish feel about it and the atmosphere was good.

We both thought the food was of good quality, very flavoursome, generous in portion size and also good value.

Service was fine.

We will return.

This was my first visit to the Townhouse with my wife for our wedding anniversary.

We were welcomed by an excellent maitre'd and had a drink in the stylishly furnished bar before going through to the dining room.

The dining room is intimate and decor is great, seats were very comfortable too! The food was amongst the best I have experience in Ipswich. We shared
A seafood platter to start, followed by an excellent beef Wellington, cooked to perfection and possibly the best chocolate brownie I've ever had.

The selection of wine was food too, and reasonably priced.

A special mention for the front of house and waitresses who struck the perfect balance between being attentive, but never intrusive. At the end of the evening we were told they had been expecting 20 covers and staffed accordingly, but ended up doing 50 covers. We would never have noticed, as the service was excellent.

In summary, fantastic food and excellent service. We will certainly be returning to Townhouse.

Lovely building, great ambience and that’s where it stopped. We chose a wine from the list and the waitress brought the bottle with the top off and it wasn’t even the right bottle. We were told that they no longer sold the wine we requested – so why was it still on the menu? Was proffered the wine to taste – ugh – warm white wine. The parfait was sooo salty is was unbelievable – all of our party had a taste and were in agreement. But the piece de resistance was the bill. It had to be returned twice due to errors and one of them was for £40!

I have dined at The Townhouse twice and on each occasion the food and service has been excellent and excellent value for money. I am vegetarian and the choices available are interesting and appealing. No negative comments at all.

Made our first visit under the present owners last saturday evening and have to say the whole experience from the moment we walked through the door to the time we left was excellent.

A warm welcome, good to have the opportunity to enjoy a pre dinner drink while studying the menu, and really good service throughout.

My request for something different from the menu was met with a 'certainly, no problem!'.

Excellent, food, service and prices, we will be back soon.
