“Moules Tuesday very good”
Reviewed February 18, 2014 via mobile

I've been a fan of Loch Fyne, Ipswich for a long time. Tonight was my first time for moules Tuesday and what a great value meal! The Fyne highlander beer is real ale at its best, twice cooked chunky chips perfect and the rhubarb and custard cheesecake was a treat, especially with the white choc ice cream. Delicious. The only downsides were forgetting the olives and bread basket starter, and charging for the "all-inclusive" glass of house wine at first (corrected, but still, not good service) highly recommended for seafood lovers.

“25th January, Burn's Night 2014”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

We were a group of six friends returning for a second year in succession so we were hoping for a repeat of the previous good form. The evening started with either a glass of house wine or a measure of Talisker whisky. We were treated to several interludes of live bagpipe music, however it was a shame that the Haggis was not piped in, in the traditional manner. The starters were varied and very tasty, including good seafood and haggis. The main courses were again well cooked and presented but the portions did seem smaller than last year. The deserts were again Scottish themed and delicious. Now for the wines on offer, were tried a New Zealand Awatere Pass Sauvignon Blanc. Marlborough. That was £23 and all bouquet and very little flavour. Then we tried Savino Pinot Grigio. from Italy and it was not a pleasing wine. The house wine at least did not pretend to be something it was not and was quite ok. We all felt that £5 supermarket wines were being sold at woefully inflated rates for what they were.

“Truly amazing food”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

I had dinner with 2 friends last Friday at Loch Fyne in Ipswich we all had a great time the service was good with good choice of wine. I had Lobster as a main which was lovely My part of the bill came to £45 this was for 3 courses including lobster which was the most expensive thing on the menu half a bottle of wine bread and olives and coffee. My friend kept to the set menu and paid about £30. I think the prices reflect what we both had and is spot on.

“Very nice fish here!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Lovely atmosphere. Very spacious and very good value for money. Menu choice is really good. We also tried the take away fish and chips which is very very noice. Much nicer than from a "chipie" shop. You can have a fancy meal there or a family one. Staff is very polite too.
I love fish and here you are spoilt for choices!

“Disappointed this time”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

We have been to this restaurant about half a dozen times and always been more than satisfied. This time the service was very good but the food was not what you expect from this chain.
We selected from the the lunch menu and the dab was I am afraid tasteless. With loch fyne you have to aware that your main course will not feature anything other than token accompaniment so you need to purchase extra your veg. A portion of mixed veg consisted of a few broccoli heads, about 20 peas and some thinly sliced carrot for £3.25. It seemed liked it had been microwaved and was certainly not big enough to be called a portion.
