Visited on a Friday lunchtime with friends. Beer and food were good with generous food portions at a good price. Attentive service and very busy for a lunchtime.

This wonderful old ship wraps you in a warm and cosy atmosphere before you even start!
Flavoured gin and tonic to start set the meal off to begin with. I had a fishcake to start - really good big pieces of smoked haddock and cheese wrapped in a lovely breadcrummy case, topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg and hollandaise. My main course was a very generous catch of fish - from Monkfish to huge prawns hanging on a huge hook thing over my plate served with rice and a perfect bearnaise sauce. Cheerful attentive waiting staff and just the general atmosphere made this a real 'Night Out'

I had eaten here a couple of times under its previous management when it was quite good - fantastic cheeses - but not otherwise memorable. It's taken me a while to get around to sampling the new incarnation - what a mistake! Two of us ate there this week - the set lunch of 3 courses for an astonishingly reasonable £17.95. I started with the smoked salmon and crab salad which was beautifully presented and very good - although perhaps a little chilly. The snails were declared fine as well. The real treat began with the main course, however: absolutely flawless duck breast - crisp, rendered skin, beautifully rosy - with perfect bonbon, fondant potato, parsnip puree, sprouting broccoli and a delicious jus-based sauce. Incredibly generous portions. Pudding was equally inspiring - a warm wedge of a very fine walnut tart, caramel sauce and salted caramel ice cream. The cheesecake opposite was also sighed over. The wine list is excellent and very reasonable, the service is well paced and warm, the venue, naturally, appealing. Please, please let nothing change before my next visit!!

Visited this restaurant whilst in the area as it had good reviews on here and am so glad I did. The weather was not good with hail and wind so the novelty of dining on a moored boat may not have been as appealing as a beautiful summers evening and when I arrived spot on six when it opened and was the only diner I thought I had made a mistake. How wrong could I have been as the 3 course meal for £20 (midweek offer) was an absolute steal as the quality and presentation is as good as some of the best restaurants I have visited, the house white was very reasonable price wise and was delicious.
I was so busy enjoying my meal I hadn't noticed the place had virtually filled up so proving its popularity as it was a vile evening. Service was first class and the timing between courses was perfect, definitely will revisit when in the area next and hopefully a nicer evening to enjoy the view over the quay.
