“Just what we needed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2011

The Cranmoor House B&B was exactly what we needed for a two day break in Ipswich. Steve and Jan were just what they sounded on the phone when booking, friendly and professional. The bedroom had everything we could need, very comfortable bed and a large hot power shower. We had two evening meals booked & menu sorted in advance, which were excellent. Breakfast was very good as well. The location was a good twenty minute walk to the marina and town centre, with a slight hill to walk back up. Only comment is people with cat allergies may have a problem with the two resident cats, this was not a problem for us.If ever in the area again would definitely see if there is a room available here, well recommended.

Steve our host was very attentive without being intrusive.
We had dinner there during our stay and it was quite delicisious at a very reasonable cost.
The room was clean and comfortable.
A good base for touring Suffolk.

After a hectic day it was nice to be greeted by Steve the friendly owner who helped us to our room and then served us a fantastic pre arranged 3 course meal which was fantastic.
Tired and full we settled down in a lovely room with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast of the same high standard.
Lovely clean comfortable place, which we are looking forward to returning to in the near future.

We stayed at Cranmoor House for 5 nights. From our first contact via email from the States, to the time we left Cranoor, our whole experience at this B&B was exceptional. We were given a warm welcome and were able to come and go as we pleased. Our host(s) was always available for information and advice, but never intrusive.

We stayed in the twin room, which had everything we needed. The ensuite "power" shower with hot, hot water was wonderful. Hatfield Road is a nice location, not too far from the town center and has good public transport (if needed). There is a bank a few doors down, a pub and small stores close by.

A selection of in-room tea's and coffee's was appreciated. Breakfast, served to order, was generous and delicious.

There is a nice outdoor seating area in the pleasant garden. While not operational while we were there, there is a swimming spa that would be very relaxing in warmer weather.

Cassie and Jack, the house cats really added to the relaxed, welcome feel of the house. Thank you Steve and Jan for a wonderful stay. BTW, the weather in Cornwall was chilly, but not too bad; we had a lovely, albeit exhausting time.

This was a pleasurable stay welcomed by a sunny gentleman who made us feel instantly at ease. The B&B is in a great location an approximate 20 min walk to the town with views passing the rejuvinated dock area. The street it is located in was very quiet and I had a great couple of nights sleep. The breakfast choices were fab! My husband had the full English and even though I didn't there was a choice of five cereal and toast. The host offered me an option for something cooked. (I declined) The room was ample size with a huge window onto the road. The ensuite was a superb quality (looked new) We came and went as we pleased. We had a key to the bedroom and front door. Special thanks for the welcome by the two house cats wo made this experience a home from home!!

I'm just back from a long weekend in Ipswich with my friend and I stayed at Cranmoore House with Jan, Steve (the owners ) and their 2 lovely cats Cassie and Jack.
The house is really nice and warm, and they both very friendly. their welcoming makes you feel ease all the time, like living with friends. That's the perfect place to have a rest after visiting the beautiful countryside, the coast, or the town. Lovely food for breakfast cooked by Steve and lovely room with everything you need. We were given a key to the house, so we could come and go as we wished; Steve and his wife were really helpful giving us hints about places to visit and goods restaurants for having dinner out. There was also a great swimming spa where having a relaxing bath or swim after a long day out.
Recommended for a relaxing stay at a very reasonable cost :-)

The best thing about Ipswich is all homemade and really delicious Steve's food and this is stating by an Italian young woman!
Here is the perfect place to have rest also in the SPA, after a long working or visiting day in the beautiful countryside or at the coast, or in the town centre.
My favourite place is the warmth of Cranmoor House and its owners' welcoming.
Not to be missed
PS: lovely room with everything you need ..... wonderfull cats
