Listed in Alistair Sawday's "special places to stay", this beautiful old Hall full of character, makes for a romantic and relaxing stay. We only booked for one night, as we were attending a wedding nearby, but wished we could have stayed for longer.
Penny the host was lovely, offering us tea and home made cake upon our arrival. This was served in the spacious lounge, which has Henry V111's coat of arms above the fire, and beautiful antique furniture.
Our room was lovely and peaceful (no television), and the bathroom with
gorgeous roll-top bath in the middle was the icing on the cake. She
also provided ironing facilities so we could press our clothes before the wedding.
Breakfast the following morning was lovely, and served in the tastefully decorated dinning room. A perfect end to our stay.
For anyone wanting to experience a bit of historic England, this bed and breakfast is a must.
