Didn't know what to expect from Ipswich but very pleased with our two night stay here. The hotel is across the road from the bars and boats on the quayside and Isaacs bar was lively and fun. The marina area is lovely and clearly on the up in terms of redevelopment. The hotel was clean as expected, and staff friendly. I found the air con a bit noisy, and it defeats me why the corridors are so brightly lit overnight. I prefer compete dark! I'd love to be able to open a window too.... But a great stay nonetheless. Just a tip when looking round the town - look above the shop fronts. The architecture is really impressive even though the town has suffered in the recession.

Would stay here again, except for difficulty in finding its parking facilities. Situated near the quayside with main roads almost encircling it, makes it difficult to slow down on this one way system, to search for its entrance to the car park (staff confirm that signage had to be removed to comfy with some council diktat). If you miss it the first time you have to drive around a big roundabout, and in rush hour, the traffic moves at a snail's pace. As one drives round the one way system, the secondary hotel car park a few metres from the hotel is situated on the right hand side. To get out of the car park, one has to re-join the one way system again. I was not best pleased to find myself driving around in circles going nowhere fast and made my feelings known- the helpful staff offered a free breakfast to make up for the inconvenience. The room was amazingly clean and the bed was comfortable- the cleaners should be applauded for the attention to detail. There is free half hour Wifi but I was not able to connect. The breakfast was varied and the cooked breakfast had been prepared with 'soul', beautifully cooked and flavoursome. Thank you. The only thing that would prevent my booking again is the parking issue.

Room Tip: Look out for the main carpark entrance, just on the right hand side of the hotel - no obvious signs...

Yes, maybe I'm being a snob but why would I be giving 5 stars to a Premier Inn? Simply because I couldn't fault them. The room and bathroom were a decent sized and spotlessly clean. Solid easy to work shower. Easy to operate TV. Tea & coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was pretty good. Easy free parking.
This premier Inn has the added benefit of location close to the quayside but a short walk into the town centre. We even had a view of the water from the room (402).
All said and done the main purpose of a hotel is to get some sleep. I slept for 9 hours. I don't even do that at home!!
All of these positives were exceeded by the quality of the staff. Everyone we spoke to was really helpful but most of all seemed to be genuinely pleased to see you and assist. Well done all and to the management too, great stuff.

Great location, only 1 minute from the quayside. We went as a family but this would be great for a couple. The room was a bit too small for a family of 4 as all the beds ending up squeezed together, but then at £29 for a night that's the sort of compromise I would expect.

Just what you would expect from a Premier Inn but this one has the benefit of a great location, being opposite the quayside which was a real bonus. The fact that it was a new hotel meant that it was at its best and the rooms were up to the high standard that you expect from Prenier. I was travelling by train so the 10 to 15 minute walk from the station was another bonus for me and one of the deciding factors in choosing this hotel. Along the quayside there are a number of good places to eat and drink and it is a pleasant area for an evening stroll.
