This year I went to The Comedy of Errors and Wuthering heights and always the performers and the production were second to none. The enthusiasm of the cast is contagious and they always work with full energy. The setting is pretty and parking is easy and always clean services. A performance not to be missed very year.

The Red Rose Chain Theatre are a local group who put on a variety of productions throughout the year in and around Ipswich. The Theatre in the Forest is an annual event now in it's second year @ Jimmy's Farm on the outskirts of the town. It is a fantastic location, in the trees which offers protection against inclement weather if you are unfortunate enough to have any rain.
This year they are doing Comedy of Errors and Wuthering Heights and I have seen both productions and all I can say is they were brilliant. Both audiences were made up of children and adults and the adaptations were superb though it definitely helps if you have an idea of the stories before.
I also opted to have dinner at Jimmy's restaurant before each show which I would highly recommend.
The setting, the staff and the food made for two excellent evenings entertainment - roll on 2015.

This was our third experience of spending time with the Red Rose "Gang" (Previously Anne Boleyn at the Tower of London and The Taming of the Shrew at Jimmy's last year) and again just pure entertainment.
Actors that were so professional and talented. They make you feel as if you are included in the performance, a bystander in times gone past.
We take our own chairs, a picnic basket, and spend the most wonderful few hours that leave you wanting more when the performance is over.
We have tickets for Wuthering Heights and we can't wait!!!

Every play I've seen by this very talented company has been something out of the ordinary. Plays by Shakespeare will be as you've never seen them before and the performance location for these is magical. They used to be done in Rendlesham forest but since 2013 have been in another great woodland setting at Jimmy's Farm. I've also seen Jo Carrick's very interesting Anne Boleyn play performed in a yurt and "Different Buttons" performed where the story was actually set, in Ipswich's former mental hospital. Such creativity also extends to assorts of community work too. A fabulous company!

Not really sure of the date....but the performance of Anne Boleyn was superb....overpowering, and realistic.
