Revisited Salthouse Harbour Hotel and each year we have visited the standard has not lapsed everything is gleaming and sparkling. Bedroom overlooking harbour is really nice. Rather noisy from bar next door on fri and sat evening but certainly a popular area. Breakfast excellent and evening meal good. Would definitely recommend for all ages. Staff very courteous

A large group of coworkers and I had afternoon tea. We had a selection of sandwiches, salmon, ham and egg. The selection of cakes is amazing, scones, cupcakes, meringues, lemon and chocolate tarts and there was plenty.
I would go as far as to say there was too much! At £16.00 per head, I feel this is a little expensive and they would be better to serve less and charge less.
The service was okay but not super attentive.
The venue is beautifully decorated and the location is fabulous.

Pros-
> Beautiful hotel great position straight on the harbour
> Bath and look out on the harbour
> Beautiful rooms pay for higher price ones
> Out door mediteranean style pub with about 20 + lagers and ales to choose from also cheap food, out the hotel front 30 yards on right !! walk to and from this in 30 steps what a place
Cons
> dont book on a wet day sun is a must here other than that its simply great!!

Room Tip: Choose a front room over looking the harbour!!!

Excellently appointed spacious room, ideal location, incredibly helpful staff who clearly actually enjoy their work and a fantastic breakfast. It's not the cheapest hotel but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny.

We are currently staying at the Salthouse and just want to say this is a lovely hotel where everything is so right. From a warm welcome at reception , a front facing room which is slightly quirky, spotless and a massive bed which is so comfy, a view of the Marina and toiletries which are superb.
The staff have been well trained, always there for anything you might require. Nothing is too much trouble. The evening meal was excellent with an unhurried approach which we like. Attention to detail is second to none.
Breakfast was another lovely experience, the choice on the menu was vast and no buffet in sight. How refreshing, you ordered and it was prepared and brought to your table. We are leaving tomorrow but we are already planning our return, this is an exceptional Hotel with wonderful staff.

Room Tip: It is worth upgrading to get a harbour view

Only stayed here once and took the penthouse suite, so I can't comment on the other rooms but the views from this room made the extra cost well worthwhile. Beautiful inside and out I feel this hotel is the best option when staying in Ipswich.

Have now stayed here on 3 occasions and each visit gets better as the surrounding area and harbour improve. With all staff nothing seems to be an issue or too much trouble. The rooms are very modern. The views from the front superb. Have also stayed at their sister hotel in Bury St Edmunds, The Angel, which is also fantastic.
