This was a return visit to this delightful restaurant, the first being some months ago. The food was excellent, tasty and well cooked. But what sets this restaurant apart is the very friendly and expert service. They appear to have a genuine concern for the customer, and are happy to take time to explain the dishes and answer any questions.

So I've been waiting 11 years for a Turkish restaurant arrive in Ipswich. And I'm glad to report that it was worth the wait. The food here is sublime, the service is typically Turkish... warm, welcoming & friendly. The Iskender kebab is to DIE FOR! Don't let the word "kebab" put you off. This is a traditional Turkish Kebab with fresh flat bread, melt in your mouth meat & tangy yoghurt. God, I'm getting hungry writing this out! It's perfect for a date (you will feel sophisticated), taking your Mum (She'll be happy you are eating properly) or with friends (Dang! How Bohemian is Billy?). Turkish IS the new Indian, try it, you'll love it.

Went here a few weeks ago as a group of four. Id never been to a turkish resturant before. Well, what a supprise. The food was fantastic and the staff took us through the menu with real care and genuine passion for the food on it. The waitress spoke to us about the meal, how it was made and what we should choose if we were unsure about our choice options. She had such a good relationship with the clients in the room that she even offered us holiday ideas about where to stay and visit as one of our party was thinking about holidaying in Turkey next year.
The bill was very well priced and we had starters, mains, desserts and coffee. Beers and a bottle of wine between four of us. All for £120!!!

Will go back again VERY SOON

Being near the Regent Theatre I've used this restaurant several times recently before going to see a show. The staff are extremely friendly and make an effort to remember returning customers. The food is of a very high quality, extremely tasty and is good value for money. Great place to pop in before a show or to make an evening out with friends.

We were a party of six for Mothering Sunday which included 1vegan and 1 pescatarian and 1 who likes to choose the vegetarian option when eating out. Some of us had the set 3 course meal for £17.50, some just chose a la carte. We all enjoyed our meals very much and the chocolate dessert is delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was warm and obviously popular with families. I had requested a table downstairs for the benefit of my elderly mother in law and asked about vegan dishes and the staff were very obliging. We would recommend Alaturka without hesitation.
