we experienced this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night as a group of 4. the staff were friendly and helpful and the setting was more than adequate.
the drinks menu is pretty limited and what was there seemed overpriced.
having not been before the waitress explained the concept to us and then suggested we visit the salad bar to start......STOP don't do what we did and fill our plates with lots of salad bits. the select was surprising goo but with lots of bread and potato and pasta (which was all really nice) it was obvious that they want you to fill up on that first, therefore not wanting to eat as much meat! the meat waiters (i'm sure there is a posher name for them!) were all very friendly and attended the table very frequently with different types of meat. the meat was truly delicious, the only meat that i found slightly salty was the gammon but it was so juicy and tender it did not ruin it at all. my partner is very fussy about any fatty bits on meat and even he ate lots of different varieties, the steak was so delicious and cooked to perfection and i was pleasantly surprised that the types of meat coming around was varied and all tasty (perhaps cynically i thought that the nicer cuts of meat wouldn't appear as much on their rounds around the table but i was proven wrong- thankfully!)
the price of meal we all thought was expensive (especially if you make the rookie mistake of filling up on carb loaded salad bar items) and i found it a little strange that the same restaurant in Swindon is 2 pound cheaper!
overall a really good meal out and was a lovely treat but i do not think the price of the food or drinks is warranted.
