Went to the Woolpack a couple of weeks ago for a birthday meal. Food and service very good. The only thing I would suggest is that when they refer to ' chips' on the menu, they let you know that they are in fact potato wedges ( lovely thick tasty wedges) but far too 'heavy 'to accompany a main meal and we left almost all of them. Having an option to order chips OR wedges from the menu would be good.

Strolled through the park with the dog for a pre-arranged breakfast meeting at The Woollpack. First visit for breakfast and won't be the last excellently cooked poached and scrambled eggs plus good service. To cap it all it was sunny and we sat outside which was perfect. Thank you to the young lady who look after us and made such a fuss of the dog.

Myself and my partner decided to have a late lunch here on a dreary Saturday Afternoon and we were truly impressed!
We had previously visited for drinks and were made to feel very welcome.
The drinks selection was superb, with plenty of 'proper' beers on offer!

The menu, although not extensive, would cater for most tastes and the pricing was very reasonable.
I had the cod and chips, which was one of the best that i have had in a restaurant, the portion was very generous.
My Partner had the beef burger, which was beautifully cooked as requested and of a very high standard.
We were not able to sample the Dessert menu due to over eating the mains, however they all sounded very appealing.
There is a relaxed atmosphere and little pressure to rush.

We will definitely be returning and I have recommended The Woolpack to lots of people!!!

having been told that the Woolpack was back to its best we decided to venture over for lunch in the sunshine in the beer garden.

im very glad we did! the woolpack has a great selection of lagers and a small but reliable selection of beers. the food was great, typical bistro pub but done great.

my burger was a big homemade lump of good quality beef, the chips were thrice cooked and perfect and the accompanying homemade sauce was flavoursome and perfect.

great pub food done well... will be returning

We visited the Woolpack today for lunch. Haven't been there for ages but knew the new owner's great reputation so made the trip. Wow, could have stayed all day! Great food (spoilt for choice) and service, loved the atmosphere and decor, they've got some great ideas. We'll be returning very soon.
