“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

This little place is well worth a visit. Nestled in by St Nicholas Church its a bright airy cafe with excellent food.
Really good service, the food is presented well and very generous portions. Lunches range from sandwiches and baguettes to salads and hot meals.
It does get quite busy so to be sure of a table its worth booking.
We've had several meals here and in particular I would recommend the Warm Brie ciabatta with salad and crisps or the Goats cheese, pear and walnut salad both of which are just wonderful.
Delightful little cafe to which we return time after time!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is the second time a friend and I have had a light lunch at The Sanctuary. There is a limited menu, with usually two dishes of the day, and then jacket potatoes, panninis and wonderful thickly filled sandwiches, all garnished with Kettle crisps and a dressed salad. Prices are sensible and the banana and almond cheesecake was delicious! This really is a hidden gem, and there are outside tables to take advantage of the sunshine. A pleasant friendly waitress was on hand to explain everything. They also do a fantastic offer in the afternoon for two people pot of tea and 2 fruit scones for £3.50. Just off St Nicholas street with it's individual shops, The Sanctuary is well worth a look.
