This was our first time at the Brasserie, we went with four friends. As we walked in the warmth hit us (there was snow outside), as did the pleasant ambience of the low lighting and tasteful decor. Tables were well spaced apart giving us plenty of privacy but not isolated form other diners.
The menu was varied (I especially liked the fact there was a set £19.95 3 course menu), and lots of options for starters were also options for main course (I have often wanted 2 starters rather than a starter and a main). The meals were all freshly cooked and extremely well presented and very good value. The waitresses were lovely and friendly, helping out where we wanted roast potatoes with a meal that should have been served with mash. We felt so relaxed we spent 3 1/2 hrs at the restaurant and even though it got late, were not under any pressure to leave. We'll certainly be spreading the word about this lovely place and revisiting as soon as possible.

Especially good value on Mon-Fri with 3-course set meals at £18. Carefully prepared and friendly service (of the "How are you, guys? variety). Restaurant quite spacious - you are not on top of the couple next door. Service quite brisk and portion size generous. Slow roasted belly of pork especially recommended. Booking probably necessary most nights.

Myself and husband have visited twice, had enjoyable meals both times.
There was an issue with our steaks the 2nd time (being wrong size) they offered to change them so was fine.
The service from the serving staff both times has been very good, really welcoming.
Will return again.

A nice atmosphere and nice surroundings. Very friendly and accomodating staff with very good wines.

I went for the prawn cocktail starter and lamb myself which was quite excellent. The cheesboard was outstanding. Veg was just the right mix and perfectly cooked. The only slight gripe of the evening came from the three of our group who ordered the steak saying it was somewhat better done than they had asked for. It wasn't sent back though as we had the last two fillet steaks and was still nice, just not really good like my lamb which is a shame.

That's the only thing knocking this down from an excellent to a very good in my books.

The service in here was really really good, i had scollops to start with and i think the sauce was too rich and spoilt the taste of the actual scollop however my main course of rump steak was VERY tasty !!
