Lovely produce on stalls and quite a wide variety of items available. Really nice staff in shops and helpful advice for places to visit. Car parking was expensive though.

“Bargain.”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Great time of year to start the christmas shopping visiting markets and the Ipswich market is a particuarly attractive affair. Stallholders extremely friendly and many bargains on offer. Steer away from the electronic deals as they may not be there after the season of good will, great day out.

“no, just no”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

right...i went to ipswich for my birthday with my mates and went in the market and went to buy some shorts and the man that worked in their said i can try them on infront of him!! pervert much...anyhow, i bought the shorts anyway to wear and went to debenhams to try them on and they fit fine, very cheap, but fine, so i went back to tell the stall holders that they fit fine and the 2 men (stall holders) said 'dont go, come back' and 'i cant stop talking about you girlies'! desgraceful attitude to me, im only young and their saying that kind of stuff. never again! do not recommend!

“Cheap and nasty”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

Once upon a time the Ipswich market was passably good; sadly those days have long gone. The market, just like Ipswich generally has slowly slid down the downmarket tubes towards mediocrity. Apart from the occasional food stall there was nothing on sale here that I could imagine that anyone would want.

“Foreign Food and Handbags”
Reviewed October 4, 2010

I used to love Ipswich Market and it used to be located to the end of Lady Lane at the top end of town, Now it is only on the Cornhill infront of the Town Hall.
Sadly there is nothing for the average Brit to eat, other that foreign stuff u wouldnt have a clue what it is.... The smell of this foreign food is enough to make u reach... The good thing though is the little doughnut seller in his van Now those are the best and only edible food to be had on this market.
You can still buy fresh veg and produce there is one seller of that, also there Is Mitch Lloyd and his Handbag and suitcase stall. Wont be ripped off there he's a Jehovahs Witness. And theres usually one stall of clothes and socks so really it aint much of a market and very very small. Lets have back the bigger market that used to sell everything from music dvds clothes, brick a brack and anything u could wish for
