“High Tea Cruise”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

High Tea Cruise – it seems to be incorrectly listed as being based in Felixstowe, in fact the boat depart to and from Ipswich Marina. The Orwell Lady is a spacious two deck former Thames water taxi. The top deck is open and the lower deck is covered although there are steep steps to the lower deck. High tea is available all during the cruise, consisting of a range of sandwich and a large selection of cakes all carefully presented. You can to move between the two decks during your trip. Our cruise passed through Ipswich Haven lock then along the River Orwell to the Port of Felixstowe to look at the container ships up close then across the Harwich, also viewing Shotley marina. There are male and female toilets on board.
I recommend that you do not have a big lunch before taking the high tea cruise due to the large quantity of food you are expected to eat! Tea and coffee is included, however other drinks may be purchased.
A great afternoon cruise lasting approx. 3 ½ hours. However you do need to book in advance, and may not be suitable for the less abled person and very young children due to having to negotiate the stairs.

“A wonderful evening”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

A work's do with a difference, A beautiful summer evening, was absolutely lovely. The open deck is great for sight seeing, and if you are not disco inclined then you'll want to stay up top anyway! Drinks were not as expensive as i'd feared they might be, and the highlight was arriving near Felixstowe docks as it started to light up for the night- quite spectacular viewed from the water.

“Excellent sail on Thames Barge 'Victor'”
Reviewed November 11, 2011

Loved the hour and a half sail on the Thames Barge 'Victor' at the Shanty Festival Weekend. Skip very kindly allowed me to take the helm under his supervision for a while - a most enjoyable experience.

“Tourist Boat Trip along the River Orwell from Ipswich”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

This attraction seems to be incorrectly listed as being based in Felixstowe, in fact the boat depart to and from Ipswich Marina. The Orwell Lady is a spacious two deck former Thames water taxi. The top deck is open and the lower deck is covered. You are free to move between the two during your trip. The exact distance the trip covers is dependent upon the tides. Our trip passed through Ipswich Haven lock then along the River Orwell to the Port of Felixstowe to look at the container ships up close. There is a commentary on the way out and music on the way back. The Captain was happy to answer any questions. There are male and female toilets on board. Drinks and snacks are available to buy.
