Lovely, historic location with a good choice of venues for eating/entertainment. Clean and safe, ideal for a romantic getaway!

A bit rundown in some areas. Visited on Sunday lots of places were shut we expected better. Possibly nicer in summer.

This is an area that has been improving for the past few years, with a good selection of pubs and restaurants and now the main University building is also there. It is great to have a walk or having a cup of coffee in one of the bars on a sunny day!

The waterfront area is nice for a relaxing stroll in the sun and has a few nice places to eat and to drink, all pretty much offering a fairly good view and to sit outside and enjoy the sun.

Worth a visit for a bit of history and a walk in the south facing bowl (warm even winter). Not reached it full potential and due to crash left in a real mess in places but some very good restaurants / bars. Can't wait until they finally finish it!
